Home. The smell of home has always given Orion mixed feelings, especially after she spent some time at Hogwarts. However, she was also grateful for waking up on her own bed, especially on Christmas, it's not like she hated being in Hogwarts, it's just that everything is better at home, everything to herself, no more sharing, oh, how she despised sharing.
Orion went to the breakfast table as soon as she opened her eyes, Cepheus and Cassiopeia were staying in her house because her Aunt Freya and her wife were off to New Orleans since a week before Christmas.
"Merry Christmas, kid," Marcel said through his Daily Prophet with a hint of a smirk on his voice.
"Merry Christmas," said Orion to both Marcel and Rebekah, who were probably already there since 7 am. She walked up to them to kiss both of them on the cheek.
"Here, your favourite, Dimmy made it specifically for you," said Rebekah while passing her a bowl of poffertjes, a commonly sweet treat from the Netherlands, which is basically small fluffy pancakes served with butter and powdered sugar.
"Oh, God, thank you, thank you!" Orion squealed when she saw the hot poffertjes on the breakfast table.
"Do you want some tea? Or hot chocolate?" Rebekah asked again before calling Dimmy, one of the houselves on the Mikaelson Manor.
"Earl grey would be great," Orion said to Dimmy who appeared in less than a second after Rebekah called, "Thank you, Dimmy," she said while giving Dimmy the biggest grin when the houself was back with an earl grey tea two second after.
"Where's Ceph and Cass? Are they still asleep?" Orion asked while taking some pieces of poffertjes from her plate.
"Cass is taking a hot bath, said she couldn't sleep last night. Ceph is actually in Paris right now, he said he needed to do something, and he's staying at Kol's. In fact, Marcel is going there after breakfast to make sure everything is alright," said Rebekah through her cup of tea. She looked at Marcel through the corner of her eyes to make sure he said something.
"Ceph is looking for a specific arrow for his bow, I wasn't sure what it was, but he asked to look for it himself for his Christmas gift, I couldn't say no," Marcel said, this time he put down his newspaper to face Orion.
The thing with Marcel is, although he was Orion's uncle, technically, he was also Orion's stepbrother. Niklaus Mikaelson took Marcel under his wings when he was 17 years old, Marcel was an orphan that Klaus turned into a vampire when he was 25 years old. He married Rebekah Mikaelson right after Klaus married Orion's mum, Persephone Baudelaire, who came from one of the wealthy French wizarding families. The Baudelaire family was also the only pureblood family that personally refused to be included in the Sacred Twenty-Eight, a list of 'twenty-eight pure-blood families' written by Cantankerus Nott in the 1930s, for reasons only Cantankerus Nott and Pierre Baudelaire know.
"God, that beignets smell," said Cassiopeia when she walked into the breakfast table with a bathrobe, "Merry Christmas, everyone," she said while snatching one of the beignets from the table and then sat on the chair in front of Orion.
"I'm gonna have to take off now," Marcel stood up to hug the three of them and kissed Cassiopeia and Orion on their heads.
"Are you using a portkey?" Orion scrunched her nose at the thought of traveling with a portkey, sure, it was faster, but it also gave some disgusting effect that she hated.
"No, are you kidding me? I'm taking one of your family jets," Marcel said with a laugh and then kissed Rebekah, "Oh, also, don't forget the Malfoy's annual Christmas Gala tomorrow, they sent the invitation last night, it's in Klaus' study room."
