Fate's a bitch.
It was believed that the Fates or the Moirae–the three deities that ensured all beings live out their destiny as assigned to them by laws of the universe–were made out of old magic, assigned to control every destiny of every being, the three of them were the ones who spun the threads of fate, controlling every story in every beings life. The Fates were known to be older than most Gods and Goddesses, some rumour even stated that the Fates might have been more powerful than Zeus himself, feared by most deities.
Orion never really did like the thought of having her fate all planned out by anyone but her. Different cultures had different beliefs of how their destiny was written out–whether it was by three deities with a thread of red strings that they attached to every soul three days after they were born, or whether it was how every soul had their stories already written in the stars. Say that to her face, and she would make sure she stepped into the heavens herself to crush every star one by one with her bare hands.
Though, if Orion thought it through, her spiteful mannerism towards fate, in general, would probably be because fates, whether it would be the Fates or the stars themselves, had never been kind enough to her. How cruel could some deities be to let a nine year old have her hands bloody with the blood of her own parents? That was why in Orion Mikaelson's book, fate would always be a bitch.
As she stepped her foot into the Great Hall for lunch, the tip of her lips twisted when she looked at the Slytherin table and did not find a certain silver blond-headed guy, maybe the Fates had already started being good to her. It was already half-past one, which probably meant Draco had finished his lunch since he was always at the table early. Though, it was quite strange to see only Cassiopeia and Theo sitting at their side of the table. Where are the rest of the gang?
She couldn't bear the thought of facing Draco Malfoy after she basically launched herself into his lap yesterday. She managed to avoid him in the morning by missing breakfast, taking a piece of sandwich from the common room and immediately went to the Ballet Room–which fortunately managed to be vacant until she was done. Embarrassing, would be an understatement if she was honest. She was in a war with herself after she walked out of the Ballet Room yesterday, whether to just walk outside the ground to the Forbidden Forest to dig a hole and bury herself alive or just to let it slide, though from the looked of it, it didn't seem like Draco wasn't enjoying himself.
Oh, he was definitely enjoying himself, that was for sure. The mark was evident on Orion's neck, which the Ravenclaw witch had definitely forgotten when she was preparing herself before she went down to the Great Hall. Cassiopeia squinted her eyes when she saw her cousin sitting in front of her, next to Theo.
"Orion," Cassiopeia immediately dropped her fork down, clearing her throat before she jolted her chin. "Long night?" She furrowed her brows. "–with Hadria?"
Orion furrowed her brows, not understanding what her cousin was intended to ask since she hadn't really talked to Hadria. Theo turned his head, also with furrowed brows, his eyes immediately widened when he saw the mark on the left side of Orion's neck. He pressed his lips thin before he twisted his neck back to face his plate, a burst of laughter was held by him.
Orion squeezed her eyes shut the moment she realised what Cassiopeia meant, taking her wands out of her coat pocket, she immediately cast a low Concealing Charm, secretly cursing herself for being stupid. It was the first thing she thought when she woke up that morning, to conceal the mark Draco had left her, yet the thought to actually do it definitely slipped her mind.
