Chapter 42

Corbyn: "I can't loose you Madelyn, not after dad."
Mads: "You won't bubby, I promise."
You scooted closer and hugged him.
Corbyn: "And mads?"
His tears came to a stop, slowly but surely.
You hummed.
Corbyn: "If you wanna date Zach, Im not stopping you. As long as he makes you happy."
You smiled.
Corbyn: "But I swear if he hurts you, there might be a new band member replacing a dead Herron. He "accidentally fell" off a cliff."
You both giggled a little bit.
Mads: "Go to bed, its 2 in the morning."
Corbyn: "Yeah get back to bed missy." He joked.
Mads: "Ive also been sleeping since 6, im up and probably will be for the rest of the night."
Corbyn started walking up the stairs with you following him.
Right in between your doors, he pulled you into a hug, and kissed the top of your head, almost like a dad.
Corbyn: "I love you Mads."
Mads: "Love you bubby."
Corbyn: "Now go cuddle with your sleeping man."
You smiled and walked into your room. As you closed the door, your smile faded, and a light switched on.
Zach: "Why exactly are you up walking around at 2am-"
Mads: "Because I don't feel any pain, its pretty much gone, and ive been sleeping for the past 8 hours."
Zach held out his hands.
You walked over and grabbed them, sitting down next to him. Things were going back to normal for you. Starting tomorrow. Well, today.
Mads: "Corbyn gave his blessing.."
Zach: "Oh really?"
You nodded.
Zach: "well then... what if i.."
He started tickling you.
After a couple minutes of you struggling, Corbyn opened the door.
Corbyn: "I gave you permission to date not to do this."
Mads: "Ew Corbyn that is not whats happening at all."
He smiled and walked away, and you layed down next to Zach, but on opposite sides of the bed. Take it slow this time, and maybe it will workout.

*three weeks later*
Everything was going well, Corbyn had layed back on being protective, and you and Zach began doing everything together. Even grocery shopping.
You woke up as Zach walked in, shirtless.
Zach: "Morning"
Mads: "Morning- put a shirt on-"
Zach: "You live with dudes its nothing new."
Mads: "Still"
He laughed and walked the rest of the way in, grabbing your wrist pulling you to a sitting up position.
You went to stand up, almost fell over, but grabbed Zachs shoulder to gain your balance. You were still half asleep without coffee. You walked over to your vanity, like nothing ever happened, and sat down. You plugged in the straightener, taking your hair out of the bun it was in.
Zach sat down on the edge of your bed.
Zach: "When are you gonna start dance again?"
Mads: "Hopefully tomorrow, I finish off my meds today so.."
Zach: "That doesn't mean you won't still be sore."
Mads: "Sore isn't that bad, Ive pulled muscles that hurt more."
Zach: "Starting a new routine?"
Mads: "Yeah.. Sierra said my song was "Eye of the Storm" By Caleb Hearn."
He nodded.
As you did your hair you and Zach just talked about life. You started your makeup and Zach stood up, walking up behind you. He ran his fingers down your hair.
Zach: "Good lord how is it so soft-"
You just shrugged.
Mads: "Uhh maybe because I just straightened it?"
He started playing with your hair, and you just let him.
Suprisingly enough, he did a braid and wrapped it around to the back, and it didn't look bad. He did the other side, making for a half up half down type thing.
Mads: "Wow Zach who knew you could braid hair?"
Zach: "Me"
You giggled at his sarcastic comment.
Mads: "I gotta go get dressed.. go put a shirt on-"
Zach: "OH YEAH"
You both giggled. You picked out this:

As you came back out, Zach stood in the doorway.
Zach: "Well don't you just love your black jeans"
Mads: "HUSH ITS NOT ALL BLACK TODAY- DON'T PUSH IT HERRON" You joked, making him giggle.
You grabbed your phone off your nightstand, seeing a notification. You had been tagged in Lindseys post. You hadn't talked to her since you left, other then a couple texts here and there. You missed her, a lot. You decided to call her, so you set your phone on your vanity, leaning against the mirror and sat down.
She picked up after a couple rings.
Lindsey: "Hey Mads!! Well don't you look all cute!"
Mads: "Hi Linds, I miss you!"
Lindsey: "I miss you so much, but I have good news!"
Mads: "Spill-"
Lindsey: "My mom got tickets to L.A to come visit!!"
Your jaw dropped in happiness. That was until Zach interupted, finally. You were shocked he stood there silently as long as he did.
Zach: "And whos this?" He sat down next to you, slightly pushing you over.
Lindsey: "Lindsey, her bestie!" She smiled.
Zach: "A- I- IM SO OFFENDED I THOUGHT I WAS YOUR BESTIEE" His voice cracked on purpose.
Lindsey: "SIR THATS MY JOB"
Zach: "Shes my bestie, she lives with me" he wrapped his arms around you, engulfing you in a hug.
Lindsey: "RUDE YOUR CHEATING ON ME MADELYN!?"
Mads: "NO HES UH HES-" You played along
Zach: "No shes cheating on ME! Im obviously the main girl. Your the side chick, duh"
Lindsey put her hand on her heart and pretended she was hurt.
After joking around for a while, she had to go. You hung up.
Mads: "You like her!"
Zach: "WhAt"
Mads: "Don't hide it Herron, you think she's cute!"
Zach: "And what makes you think that Besson?"
You both stood up.
Mads: "You blushed the entire time!"
Zach: "Not from herrr"
Mads: "THEN WH-"
You stopped yourself and Zach smirked. You pretended you didn't already know.
Mads: "You.. like.. ME?"
Zach: "maaaybee?"
You giggled as he was playing along.
Mads: "Well, I just don't know what to tell you, your life is gonna suck when you find out you can't date me."
Zach: "And why is that?"
Mads: "Im OfF LiMiTs"
Zach: "REaaLly"
Mads: "Yep totally off limits."
Zach: "We'll see about that one Besson."
He grabbed your wrist and dragged you out of the room, taking you to the living room, where the boys sat.
Zach: "BOYS"
Jack: "WHaT ZaCHArY"
Zach: "Mads says shes off limits, I don't believe that."
Jonah: "HMmmmM I say she's not."
Daniel: "HMMMM I think, she needs a Herron tattoo. Claim her Zach."
Mads: "WOAH THERE WATERMELON BOY"
He chuckled.
Jack: "I agree with Daniel."
Mads: "I will shave your noodles in your SLEEP"
Jack grabbed his head.
Jack: "My NoOdLEs"
Zach: "Told you. Your not off limits, totally up for someone to swoop in and claim you."
Mads: "I CLAIM MYSELF"
Zach: "Did she jus-"
Jack: "She really-"
Daniel: "Yes-"
Jonah: "Hun you got a lot to learn.. that isn't how it works..." he smirked.
Corbyn walked down the stairs.
Mads: "CORBYN TELL ZACHARY IM OFF LIMITS"
Corbyn: "Zachary shes off limits-" He said in a flat, joking tone.
Zach: "RuDE"
He drug you back upstairs. You were on spring break this week so you had no school to do. Once you got to the top of the stairs, he threw you over his shoulder.
Mads: "ZACHARY HERRON" You were punching his back. Not hard, but still doing it.
He walked into his room throwing you on his bed, and as you looked around, you realized exactly why.
