Champion Green

I took a deep breath before walking to the place where I'll battle Green. I felt myself losing hope as I took each step, but I couldn't give up now. I had come so far and my friends are ready to give it their all.

I had something to prove to him too. I can't let him see me as the girl who lost to him at the start. I would win and prove myself to him. I felt my face heat up as I thought about what else I was going to do after the battle, confess my feelings for him.

I shook my head and quickly ran ahead. Golden gates guided me to the battlefield, I saw Green's back to me. He was throwing a pokéball in the air as he waited for me. He looked like a model as he turned around to face me. Green smiled cockily as he caught his pokéball while I approached him.

"Hey, Alyssa!" He smiled. "I've been looking forward to this for a long time."

"I've been waiting for this too," I admitted, smiling at him. "The day I get to avenge myself from back when we first battled."

He smirked, readying himself to throw his pokéball. "My rival should be strong to keep me sharp."

I readied myself too. "You never challenged me after that! Except that-"

"While working on my Pokédex, I looked all over for Pokémon." Green cut me off. "Not only that, I assembled teams that would beat any Pokémon type."

I continued to listen to Green's monologue. He wouldn't be able to do this after our battle, after all, I'd be taking the champion title.

"Alyssa! Do you know what that means?" Green asks me, a wide grin spreading across his face.

I thought for a second. "You're going to lose?"

"No!" He shouted at me. "I'm the most powerful trainer in the world!"

I threw out Belphie's pokéball and Green sent out a Pidgeot, the final evolution of Pidgey. Its large wings flapped as it glared sharply at Belphie and me.

"Thunderbolt!" I shouted quickly.

Belphie reacted quickly to my order and summoned storm clouds. The lightning struck directly on Green's Pidgeot, I could see the skeleton of the bird that Belphie had just electrocuted.

I stole a glance at Green, who was grinning at his Pidgeot. I raised my eyebrow and turned back to Pidgeot, who was still flapping its wings strongly. I gulped, taking a step back. I felt my arms shudder as Green called for his first counterattack.

"Featherdance!" Green shouted.

Pidgeot began shedding some of its feathers, and it spread them around Belphie. They clung to Belphie, who tried to shake them off, but they weren't moving.

I gritted my teeth. "Another Thunderbolt!"

Belphie ignored the remaining feathers and struck Pidgeot once again. This time, Pidgeot fell to the ground. Green seemed pleased with what he had done to Belphie.

Belphie ran to me and I helped remove the remaining feathers. I called Belphie back into his pokéball and kissed it, thanking him for fighting. That was one Pokémon down, only five more to go. I wondered who he would send out next.

My question was answered. Green was sending out a Rhydon, the rhino-looking Pokémon roared as it came out of the pokéball. I gripped my next pokéball, kissed it, and threw it out.

"Haru!"

Haru glared at Rhydon and stood his ground. I could feel that Haru was ready to beat this Pokémon.
