Safari Zone

I slept in the morning after the battle with Koga, and I didn't wake up until noon. I didn't realize my mistake until Spike shook me awake.

Everyone else was already up by then and moaning loudly. I apologized and gave them more food than they could've wanted.

I quickly threw my clothes on and ran a brush through my locks. I got on my knees and begged them for forgiveness, I believe they forgave me since they kept eating. Well, that or they just didn't care because they were hungry.

I knew I messed up since they all ignored me, even Spike who woke me up. I groaned and watched as they finished eating.

I gasped as an idea came into my head. "I'll take you guys to the Safari Zone!"

They all looked at me with a puzzled expression.

"It's where you guys can run free and make friends while I search for a new team member!" I explained.

They all finished eating and got into their pokéballs. I scooped the pokéballs up and clipped them to my belt.

We headed off to the Safari Zone, a place where I knew my next team member was gonna be. I went ahead and paid the small price to enter the zone.

I let everyone out of their pokéballs so they could have their little adventures along with me, and maybe they could even find the Pokémon I was searching for.

I lined them up and stood firm. "Everyone, you're going to meet me back here in an hour. If none of us have found the Pokémon then we'll search again! Don't get into any fights without a good reason. I'm looking at you, Haru."

Haru flinched and everyone else laughed.

"Do I make myself clear? If you guys follow the one simple rule, then we could come here again." I announced.

"Nido!"

"Saur!"

"Flare!"

"Feear!"

I nodded proudly. "Then you may go explore! Have fun guys."

They all darted off in different directions, I laughed and went about exploring the place on my own.

I soared through the sky, feeling the cool breeze on my soft feathers. Spotting my trainer, who was sitting calmly underneath a large tree.

I don't think she saw me, I was pretty high up. I heard a soft voice, singing out. The voice was... not very pleasing to my ears, but she was doing her best.

I started heading down, planning on perching on a branch nearby so I could watch over her. Suddenly, another Pokémon called Pidgey appeared next to her.

Instead of shooing the Pokémon away, she smiled and gently pet it. A sharp pain ran through my heart, why didn't she tell it to leave? Was she planning to replace me?

I darted to them, watching them smile together is something I hardly remember with her.

I landed and spread my wings, hissing and screaming all while in front of her.

"Osore?! What are you doing? It's just a baby!" She cried, jumping to her feet.

I let out my signature cry and readied my wings to attack.

She ran out from behind me, and in front of the shaking Pidgey. "What did I say?"

I lowered my wings and glared at her.
