KAMINA

“Hey there, Raven” I greeted as I sensed Sasuke’s presence on the roof.

“You always know when I’m here” the raven-haired boy said with a slight chuckle as he walked towards me.

“Well, your presence was very noticeable” I said

He sat beside me and gazed at the night sky with me.

“So you’re a sensory type ninja?” he questioned

I shrugged. “I’m a ninja of different powers. Sensory is just one of them” I said

It was silent after that. The same silence that I’ve grown fond of since I spent my nights with the Uchiha beside me.

“I’m sorry” I heard Sasuke mutter.

I turned to him with a questioning look. “You’re sorry for what?” I asked

He sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck uncomfortably. “I’m sorry for hurting your feelings last night. You asked to work with me so we could pass the survival test and I rejected you. I saw the hurt in your eyes when you walked off to who knows where. And for that mistake, I’m sorry.” He uneasily said.

From the way he was acting, you could tell that apologizing is not something he usually does. That fact made me smile a little knowing that I was able to make him apologize.

“It’s alright, Sasuke. At least we all passed, right?” I said to brighten up the mood.

Much to my luck, Sasuke gave a small smirk of amusement. “Yeah” he said

“Missions start tomorrow. You should sleep, Sasuke” I said

He was silent for a while before he asked something that took me off guard.

“Why don’t you try to sleep?” Sasuke asked

I stared at him before sighing. “I’m afraid of the nightmares, remember?” I asked as I kept my gaze on my hands.

“What if you don’t get nightmares anymore?” Sasuke asked again

“Sasuke, I can’t take that challenge. I don’t want to experience my clan’s death all over again.” I said

Sasuke furrowed his eyebrows as if he was thinking about something before he suddenly grabbed me and forced me to lie down beside him.

“What are you doing?!” I shouted as I landed on his chest… which was rock hard, may I add.

I blushed. Stop thinking dirty thoughts, Kamina! Geez, he’s your teammate!

Sasuke chuckled before pulling me back down when I tried to sit back up. I groaned.

“Sleep” Sasuke ordered.

I froze as I looked up at him with pleading eyes. “Sasuke, I can’t… the nightmares… I’m scared” I pleaded which made his eyes soften.

“I’m here, don’t worry. If I see you having a hard time because you’re having a nightmare, I’ll wake you up and never ask you to sleep again” Sasuke said

I stared at him for a while before sighing and finally closing my eyes. “It’s worth a try, I guess” I said

I waited for a few minutes before I felt darkness consume me.

There I was, in the middle of my old village as fire kept on burning the houses.
