Chapter One

KAMINA

I don’t know where I am. I don’t know where they’re taking me. All I know is that there were ninjas around me. No one talked and no one dared to even glance at me. I kept my head hung low as I walked with my hands in chains. I don’t know what crime I’ve committed to have my hands chained like this. But I didn’t argue. I didn’t have the energy to argue. We then came across a gate that had a sign on the top. Konoha.

The ninjas dragged me inside the gates and we walked silently around the village. People stared at me while some whispered. I didn’t pay attention to them. We stopped in front of a red tower.

“Don’t try anything silly” the ninja in front of me said as he started to walk inside the red building.

I didn’t respond as the other ninjas pulled my chains so I would follow them. We walked a series of stairs and walked an endless hallway to stop in front of a wooden door. Knocking three times, I heard a shout of a man telling us to enter. The wooden door opened to reveal an old man wearing a robe. The Hokage, I presume.

“Why have you brought a girl with you?” the Hokage asked

I didn’t pay much attention to their conversation but after a few minutes, the ninjas released my chains and left the room leaving me and the Hokage alone.

“Please sit down” the Hokage said

I stared at him for a while before slowly making my way towards the chair in front of his desk and sitting down.

“Hello, I am the Hokage of this village. May I ask your name?” the Hokage asked kindly. I stared at him again and wondered if I should give him my name or not. The Hokage seemed to notice my discomfort and gave me a kind smile.

“Don’t worry, you can trust me. I won’t hurt you.” He said

I pondered about it for a moment before finally giving up. “Kamina” I said

“Any last name?” he questioned. I gave him one last stare before saying my last name.

“Akiruta. Kamina Akiruta” I said

The Hokage smiled brightly at my response before turning serious again. “What village did you come from?”

I froze as I remembered all the memories. I immediately regained my cool and answered. “I don’t remember”

The Hokage looked at me curiously but decided to let it slide. “Do you have a place to stay?” he asked

“No” I answered

I didn’t look at the Hokage but I knew that he felt pity towards me. He suddenly took out some papers. I looked at him in confusion as he started to write my name on top along with a few other things I didn’t bother reading.

“How old are you?”

“Twelve”

The Hokage nodded as he continued to write. After writing, he looked up at me and smiled.

“Kamina, would you like to live here in Konoha?” the Hokage asked

I was surprised. Live in the Leaf Village? That would be… I don’t know. A part of me wants to agree but another part is telling me otherwise. If I stay in Konoha, what will happen? Will I live a normal life? Or is it just like my past all over again? I shook the memory out of my head. I could stay in Konoha for a couple of months. Just for the heck of it.
