There were a few things on this Earth that were simply indescribable and the breathtaking view from where I stood on the small hill near the Black Lake was one of them.

The frosty tips on the grass and dried clumps of leaves on the ground indicated the growing coldness. A light breeze caressed the back of my neck and in the swaying autumn flowers, the last notes of summer were already fading. I watched in awe as the sun rose, its golden petals blending into the rich blue of the sky and I shielded my eyes as the bright fiery orange and yellow rays began to light up the world. There was a peaceful hum of nature, the sway of trees caused by the ever gentle breeze creating a gentle rustle that made me feel tranquil. It was the music of fall.

My skin did not stay void of goosebumps for long, as the wind blew against my face, causing a pleasant chill to run down my spine. The unique earthy smell that was left after the result of the rain, petrichor, hit my nostrils, the pleasant smell left as a reward from the earth for putting up with the terrifying thunderstorm. It was as if I could see the world without frontiers, and in that pristine ratified air, I felt an expansion of my soul.

Every moment of this fragile human existence was a living invitation to remember who we truly are.

"You're up early." I did not turn around at the voice, instead,  continuing to stare at the sunrise with a content smile resting on my lips. I felt him approach me until he stood right beside me, gazing at the horizon.

Glancing swiftly at Abraxas, I answered with a shrug. "Could not sleep."

"You could always ask me for a bottle of Sleeping Draught. I always buy them before the term in case of restless nights." He offered. I thanked him quietly, and I was truly grateful for his kindness. I never expected a Malfoy out of all people to be the most welcoming and comforting person at this period of time, yet here I was. "Would you like to have breakfast?" He asked after a few minutes of comfortable silence.

"Breakfast sounds nice." I nodded, my smile widening when Abraxas offered his arm, and I happily linked it with his before we started walking back into the castle.

"Have you heard anything from your family?" He asked nonchalantly, causing my eyebrows to furrow in confusion at his question.

"Not yet. It is too dangerous for me to reach out and try to contact them, so I have to wait until they send me a letter confirming their safety." I lied easily, putting an expression of concern on my face. He frowned at my words, and I watched as he got lost in his thoughts.

"If you want I could ask my father to try and locate them. He holds a quite important position in the Ministry."

Goddamn it Malfoy. His kindness was coming to bite me in the ass.
