There was a strange sense of security as Tom traversed through the paths of the ominous woods, enveloped by the grey, shadowed night. Two pairs of feet trailed his steps quietly, and there were no whispers exchanged as a distant howl echoed through the Forbidden Forest.

It was nearing midnight when Tom checked his pocket watch, while his other hand clutched the familiar wood of his wand. His gaze landed on a small clearing where the moon hung above, illuminating the space with its sinister glow.

Tom came to a halt, eyes wandering through the place before giving a firm nod to indicate that the place would serve as their spot for the ritual. Visha did not waste a moment before getting to work, scattering rocks around the perimeter to form a small circle. She cast a disapproving glance at the boy who had not moved from his spot.

"Care to contribute, Malfoy? Or is the only thing you're capable of is standing there and looking ghastly?" She sneered in his direction, voice icy as she regarded him with the dirties look she could muster. Abraxas, in turn, only rolled his eyes before turning to face Riddle.

"My Lord...are you certain this is wise?" He quietly asked his charge, running a hand through his platinum locks in what could be described as apprehension.

"My Lord? Seriously? You guys have some issues." Visha looked back at them over her shoulder, brow raised in disgusted incredulity. When neither of the boys replied, she shook her head, turning back around to mutter under her breath, "No wonder why Arwen left."

"You have to consider the risks of doing such...tainted magic, My Lord. I do not mean to overstep, but this..." He heaved a breath, searching for the right words, "this is mad," He finished.

Tom eyed him briefly before retrieving his pocket watch to check the time once again. "Are you questioning my decision?" He asked without sparing the boy a glance, almost sounding bored, but Abraxas knew Tom well enough to detect the warning in his tone.

"No, My Lord. Only—"

"I did not ask for your advice either, Abraxas. You are speaking out of place. Do what I have brought you here to do."

Visha looked between the two, realising the extent of Riddle's influence on his so-called friends. She had never that kind of display of dominance between Riddle and his posse, and witnessing it felt as if she was intruding on a private moment. She became incredibly uncomfortable in their presence.

"Malfoy? Did you put disillusionment charm around the area?"

"Yes."

"Good." She nodded in approval. "Riddle, I'm done. You can proceed with the ritual now." She stepped back from the circle, shoes sinking into the soft grass as she retreated to a safe distance. "If you are having any second thoughts, this is the time to back out."
