I knew the moment I first kissed him, that he would condemn me, that I would drag myself through broken glass for him. I just was not sure if he would stay long enough to pull the jagged pieces out.
I never imagined that instead, he would push the...

I was rudely woken up by obnoxious and incessant knocking on the door. I ignored it for a few minutes, hoping the person would give up and go away. But as seconds ticked by, it was evident that was not going to happen anytime soon, so with an annoyed huff, I pushed the blanket off my body and sat up. As soon as I did though, I cringed at how stiff my muscles were after spending the night on the uncomfortable couch.
And once again I was reminded why I hated Riddle so much.
After our little fight, he left the room with a dramatic glare and I suppose I could have asked him to help me back to the bed, or even limp there myself, but that would have hurt my pride. So, I stayed on the couch stubbornly, refusing to address him or even worse, ask him for help.
I grinned to myself when I remembered how I summoned his blanket from the bed for myself pettily. If I was going to suffer, so would he.
But once again, my momentary satisfaction was cut off by the pounding on the door.
"Salazar's spit, I am coming!" I yelled at the door and the knocking stopped, leaving me in blissful silence. I got up from the plush couch and was surprised when I felt that my body was not aching as much as it had yesterday. I walked to the door and forcefully opened it, ready to give whoever it was a piece of my mind about their lack of manners, however, my colourful words died on my tongue when I saw Larissa perched on our doorstep with a stressed-out expression, which was a first. The infuriating blonde always wore a smug expression, so seeing her worried was not a natural sight for me.
"You sleep like a rock, what took you so long?" She questioned with her thick accent, displeasure evident in her icy tone.
"It is the crack of dawn." I narrowed my eyes at her suspiciously, "What is happening?"
She tried to discreetly survey the room behind me, her eyes searching for a sign of something I did not know. "You tell me. Your friend left the inn at an ungodly hour and has not been back since." She told me with furrowed brows. "The forest is extremely dangerous at night with all the cursed creatures lurking around. We are worried he is in trouble."
I inhaled sharply at this revelation, somehow not surprised that Riddle had managed to sneak out while I was asleep. The cunning wizard probably was trying to locate the diadem on his own, leaving me behind like the prat that he was.
I did not let my emotions surface on my face as I nodded at Larissa as she kept on rambling about the thousand different possibilities of how Riddle could get hurt out there. I nibbled on my bottom lip as I thought about which course of action I could take.
