An eerie silence settled like a heavy shroud over the aftermath of my fiery tempest. The air hung heavy with the acrid scent of destruction, an intoxicating blend of burnt wood and singed earth, mingling with the faint wisps of vanquished spells.

The red that had glazed over my mind began to fade, and I briefly registered the fact that I was on my knees, my breath ragged and laboured, each inhalation a struggle against the remnants of the inferno that still raged within my veins. It was as if I was breathing ash into my lungs instead of air.

The fog of adrenaline slowly cleared, and the realisation of what I had done began to peek through the haze. With trembling hands, I pushed away my hair clumsily and mustered up the courage to face what I had done.

Ash rained from the clouds like melancholic rain. The Forbidden Forest, once full of vibrant greenery and tall trees, now was stripped bare and consumed by the relentless fire. The world, it seemed, bore the scars of my wrath.

Yet there was no remorse for the ruin that I had caused. The seeds of destruction had been sown long before, by hands far more sinister than mine. I had merely been the vessel.

Breathing heavily, I rose from my knees, the taste of ash still lingering upon my lips.

"Arwen?" A small voice sounded, causing tears to spring into my eyes as I turned out. Estel peeked from behind a tree, her wide eyes bloodshot and scared. Once she saw me attempting a smile, she abandoned her hiding place and sprinted towards me. I automatically opened my arms and she crashed straight into me, holding me tightly with all her might.

"Oh, Estel, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry you had to see that." I could not stop the flow of tears as they began spilling and clutched her tighter to my chest.

"It's okay. I've seen it happen in my dreams. It was no different." She reassured me.

Pulling back only a little, I cupped her cheeks. "Are you alright? You're not hurt, are you?"

"I'm fine." She paused, then with hesitation, she pointed towards my right. "Arwen— your...your guy..."

I tensed. And then the onslaught of memories washed over me. Tom.

Tom was—

No. He could not be.

Estel deliberately pulled away from me, and I could only stare numbly at where Tom's body was laying— unmoving. I distinctly heard her breath hitch and when I looked at her worriedly, her eyes had glazed over. I waited, heart, thumping wildly against my chest, to hear her premonition. Two visions in the span of an hour were not normal.
