WHEN THE KUJA PIRATES came to serve food in the evening, the heart pirates very quickly gathered to collect their meals.

Law allowed them to go first, shaking his head as they still tried to flirt with the female warriors, no matter how often they got rejected.
Eventually, Bepo brought his portion towards him and he stared into the bowl with soup.

Even though the smell was heavenly and he knew how great it would taste, he didn't feel very hungry.

With a slow movement, he rose his gaze to look at Luffy, who sat together with Jinbei, Rayleigh and Boa Hancock.
The pirate empress had brought some extra food for the strawhat and now made sure that only he ate from it, which made Luffy chuckle from time to time.

Law wondered how he really felt. He now looked more stabilized and happy, but the surgeon was pretty sure that it was a mask he put on so that the others wouldn't worry.

He couldn't pull his gaze away from the younger pirate, tried to find a signal that would prove how bad he felt inside.

And before he managed to turn his head, Luffy slowly rose his gaze and looked straight at him.

Law felt a short wave of shame at the sudden eye contact and quickly turned his head in embarrassment.

When he grabbed a spoon to start eating his soup, he noticed that his usually calm and steady fingers trembled.

The sun was already setting when the Heart pirates decided to get back on their ship to sleep and after checking if each of them was there, Law turned and wanted to walk down towards the deck as well.
Yet when he heard a deep voice calling his name, he turned around.

Rayleigh walked up to him, a smile on his lips and a calm expression on his face.

"Could I talk to you for a second?" he asked and Law only shrugged his shoulders, turning around to face him.

"What do you say about Luffy's wounds? How long will he have to rest?"

"He has to rest for at least three more weeks, but that depends on the way he acts. If he has another outburst, the process will take longer and might have lasting damages." Law answered, before he took off his hat and ran his fingers through his black hair.

Rayleigh nodded and then looked down towards the Polar Tang.

"Do you have a plan what to do with your ship? That hole looks like it might take a while to fix."

Without even following his gaze, Law crossed his arms.

"Don't worry, my men have fixed worse damages, they know how to do this."
