A FEW DAYS PASSED.
Days in which Law questioned his own sanity more and more, until he accepted the fact that there were maybe, by the slightest chance, a few new feelings inside of him, all of them linked to a raven haired young pirate, whose smile challenged the brightness of the sun.
He even haunted him in his dreams. Even though it was a good kind of haunting, a night's vision that was over way too fast.
And a ray of hope keeping the nightmares away.
Upon opening his eyes, Law noticed daylight falling into his room and he turned his head a little to the side, his hands subconsciously trailing over his blanket to find something to warm himself with.
When his hands found something next to him, he wrapped his arms around it and pulled it closer, wanting to push his nose against the soft textile of the pillow. Yet when his nose met with soft hair, he needed a moment to get aware of his surroundings.
When his “pillow” suddenly let out a chuckle, he flinched, nervousness prickling in his stomach.
With a giant smile on his lips, Luffy smiled up at Law with tired eyes, mumbling a soft “Good morning”.
Clearing his throat, the surgeon turned on his back and stared at the ceiling of his room.
Why the hell were they both shirtless?
He had by now accepted that it helped Luffy to sleep next to him, but it bothered him that the touch of their skin made him feel so tingly, that it made his heart beat faster.
He mumbled a low “morning” before sitting up, feeling how Luffy pulled his body back from him.
That movement should have made him feel relieved, but instead, he missed his warmth instantly.
For the first time that morning, Law looked over his shoulder and took in the gaze of the younger pirate, feeling his own pulse accelerating when Luffy smiled up at him.
His hair was a mess, as usual upon waking up and the stamps of the pillow's textile on his cheek indicated that he had slept pretty well.
For a moment, they just looked at each other and Luffy's smile faded a little at Law's stoic expression.
