IT WAS LATE AFTERNOON and the sun was shining brightly onto the deck of the Polar Tang, giving the pages of Law's book a beige glow.
The letters were written with deep black, old serifs and usually, Law would've dived right into the old letters and antique drawings, but right now, his head wasn't able to concentrate properly.
He felt Bepo slowly breathing behind him in his sleep, the lying body of the polar bear acting as a surface Law could lean his back against.
And the fact that Ikkaku and Clione were playing a card game, constantly cursing or laughing at each other a few feet next to him didn't help with his concentration.
Eventually, he rested his hand with the book in his lap and slid a little further down Bepo's body, leaning his head to the side and nuzzling his cheek in the white furr.
