WHEN LAW WALKED OUT ON THE DECK OF THE POLAR TANG THE NEXT MORNING, he inhaled the fresh air and cracked his finger knuckles, still feeling stiff because he had slept at his desk instead of his bed.
He really had to get rid of that habit.
He rose his gaze and looked up at the bright sky, the shining sun that never seemed to be disturbed in the Calm Belt. For a few moments, he closed his eyes and enjoyed the warm feeling on his face and the light breeze striking through his open hair.
It somehow felt weird for him to take a break from his pirate life, to not be escaping from anybody and calculating things as he did every other day. But he couldn't deny that taking some time off felt good. He had gotten less headaches and had the feeling that the bags beneath his eyes had reduced a little during the few days they had spent on Amazon Lily until now.
Upon hearing someone call his name from the cliff in front of him, he opened his eyes and found Jinbei. The fishman had his arms crossed and a concerned expression on his face as he looked down onto the deck of the submarine.
"What's wrong?" Law yelled up to him, wondering what he could want from him.
Was it time for breakfast? No, the Kuja pirates usually brought their breakfast around 9pm, it was way to early for them to show up
"Have you seen Luffy somewhere?" Jinbei asked back and within a flash, Law's headache seemed to come back.
"No, I haven't been outside yet."
Law crossed his arms and frowned up at the fishman. No one had told him to keep an eye on the strawhat outside of treating his wounds.
Jinbei looked around, as if he was hoping to find Luffy stepping out of the forest each second. But there was no trace of the young pirate.
"I haven't seen him since last night. He shouldn't wander around alone with his wounds."
Law let out a sigh, then used a room to get himself up to the top of the cliff, landing right next to Jinbei.
"Any idea where he could be?" he asked, but Jinbei only shook his head.
"Technically, he could be anywhere. And I don't know this area that well myself."
The surgeon cracked his shoulders a little and prevented himself from sighing again. He created a small room in his hand and within the next second, Kikoku fell into his hand, the weight of the long sword giving him a feeling of comfort.
"Alright, I'll help you to look for him. I wanted to take a little walk anyway." he said and then turned to head inside the forest, tapping his sword against his shoulder as he walked.
