Lydia

I was in a room. My body was light as feathers until I was floating in the air and my feet won't touch the floor. Even my weight and senses were lost the minute I lifted my eyelids at the back of my eyes.

The room was familiar, or so I thought.

I think I could recognise the strange furniture arrangement or how everything was ancient and antics in Turkish styles. The room was spacious but it occurred to me the atmosphere was so intense that it choked the hell out of me.

Something makes my skin crawl, or the fear emerged at the corner of my heart. I'm afraid I have kept getting people involved in my trouble.

Again.

It was Mr. Hart's room, I always remembered the teapot he put next to his favourite teacup the way it was supposed to be. And I saw my friends gathering, speaking indistinctly and I forced myself to eavesdropping, came closer to them.

I saw Kate, my beautiful roommate. Scott, Quinn and Eric were there too. Neither of them looks happy but rather serious. Even Eric, the calmest person I knew, shaking beneath his boot. They were anxious and worried but I don't need to guess what they worrying about.

They have all been worrying about the same thing. Me.

I think they're the ones who cracked up their heads trying to find a way to retrieve the missing princess while my father, the king only sit and wait around for another message of ransom in case the Wild Wolves have me.

I wanted to say something to them. I want to tell everyone in the room that I'm right here alive and well. That I missed them so much and I will do everything in my power to get back home.

But I knew it was only a dream, like dreams that I had many times before. It felt so real and yet so vivid to be true. I don't know if it was a gift, but I always get dreams that come true. Like if I dreamt about tripping over a rock that night and I will get a new scar the very next day.

However, I won't let it bother me too much cause my dreams weren't completely reliable.

"We have to do something guys. She's out there, alone maybe. And every second we waste right now is like we risking Lydia's life," Kate folded her arms. Staring at the boys.

She knew neither of them would listen to her, or even if they did, there was nothing they could do. But she was hoping for a better solution to save me.

"I know, Kate" Eric replied. He gently touched his fingers, his brown hair looks so nice even in my dreams. He is always the one who soothes the air, his personality is everything that a leader needs to be. And that's the reason why so many students respected him. Obeyed him even.

"It's Hart's decision now. We can't risk acting hastily. He's the one who is going to be responsible for all of us. I know you cared so much for her, we all do. Just wait a bit moment and we going to solve this together" his eyes rested on Kate, almost begging her to calm down.

"I can't believe it," Quinn interrupted. "She's strong and powerful, how can she's not coming back now? And we don't know who took her, which is another problem. But dude, can we wait a second longer?" Quinn ran his fingers through his hair before leaning on the couch and sighing silently.

Quinn and I were so close after Kate, we shared a very special relationship that demands years of respect and boundaries. He was like a brother to me, which explains why he was so emotional to know I was on the run outside.

"Lydia is not a common vampire" Scott pointed out. "She's important to the werewolves. Her social rank says everything and also her power, her blood. It could lead to such disaster if she falls to the wrong hands" he paused before continuing.

"I wasn't assuming anything but there's always more to the story. We never knew the true motive as to why the werewolves attacked us in the first place but all of it could lead to one person, in particular, since Lydia was significant enough to make Lord Laurent beg for his knees" Everyone shared him a significant look.

The way Scott explained it so clearly and precisely makes them worried even more. To assume the worst scenario, if I have ever been captured by the enemies.

I'm a Pureblood, born to be the Vinslen ancestors. I was an elite in the vampire society, even though our blood wasn't bound to the changed ones but directly gives power and strength to them. Could be a key to the vampire's existence.

For thousands of years, the changed vampires were sworn to protect and served Purebloods because the theory has it that only the Pureblood could contribute to the everlasting life of the species.

Let's just say, if my father and I were dead and the Purebloods is gone, all the other generations of vampires could die and disappear forever.

Nobody could testify the truth of that, but no one has ever been brave enough to put the theory to the test. I don't know for sure if the rules apply the same for the werewolves.

"We must get her now, I can't wait any longer. Let's go-"

"NO! You won't take a step further. We don't have plans and we don't know where she is... I would appreciate it if you just control your feelings..."

"Oh, shut up Eric. We all will fight for her, it is just something that we will do. The moment when both of us had a crush  on her, we knew we will die for her and you're telling me you're going to surrender?!" Quinn snapped.

The situation was getting out of control, voices collided and more and more of them arguing with each other. Kate almost screamed when the boys start arguing and the door was opened when she almost move her heels to leave the room.

"Children" Mr. Hart called. The guy standing next to him crouched his shoulders. His blonde hair and sharp figure almost make my heart skip a beat.

It was Kristophe. My bodyguard. My godfather.

He watches me growing up, takes care of me and babysits me when my dad doesn't have the time for me. The rumour stated he used to have a crush on my mother until he couldn't have the strength to go to her wedding when she married my dad.

And now he's got something for me. But I don't know if I'm all good to have a too-old guy to have a crush on me. Even though his classic face and charming look didn't seem to age.

"I tracked her down but I didn't seem to get the signal. She's lost" Kristophe's voice echoed the room. And neither of the students were responding.

"We need a plan. But I need you to keep this between us if we ever wanted to search and rescue. I'm going to call the other Night Hunters. We will find her" he said.

"How?" They asked in unison. "I have my strategies. If you are with me, we do this in my way. We're going to ask around, question some people. I have a few acquaintances who would hear a word about her but promise me you would keep a secret" Kristophe look at them hopefully.

I never see him so helpless before and now I know he would go this far to save me.

"I'm coming with you" and Kristophe patted Mr Hart on the shoulder. "No, I need you here to find and nurse the other kids. I will discuss this matter with the Council. We need better defences, better protection for the vampires"

My friends nodded, understanding.

My body started to weigh down. Breathing heavily, it took me a second longer to know I wasn't dreaming. I had visions. And I'm glad.
