The rest of my coffee time with Soobin wasn't that awkward fortunately. We had a great time enjoying each other's company and we talked about a lot of different topics for a while.
After sitting there for another 45 minutes or so, we decided it was time to start heading back home. And since it was starting to get a little dark, Soobin walked me back to my dorm before heading to his own.
When I got back to the dorm, Soon was nowhere to be found.
Sure enough, she had left me a note on the counter saying that she would be staying with Hyejin for the night.
She could have told me, we were supposed to finish the drama we were watching together.
After pettily watching the drama by myself, I went to bed to prepare myself for the upcoming week.
This week has been kind of slow compared to others. The only thing that doesn't seem to be stopping is the work and study time the professors are throwing at us.
The days haven't been too exciting apart from one thing that keeps happening.
Everyday this week, the boys have spotted me walking past and asked me to lunch with them.
I don't mean to say it as a bad thing, in fact, I really enjoy being able to eat with people instead of eating a sandwich alone.
Everytime I eat with them, they somehow manage to make me laugh.
Whether it be from an actual joke, a memory they were sharing, or someone playfully insulting another, lunch with them was anything but boring. They even included me in their conversations so I wouldn't sit there without saying anything.
Throughout the week, they offered to buy me lunch over and over again. The first time I was not expecting it so I panicked and said yes before I actually realized what they said.
The times after that, I was prepared and brought my lunch with me so they couldn't buy me anything. As much as I can appreciate free food, I don't need them to buy me lunch everyday.
*~*~*~*~*
It is now Friday and I am walking out of class right before I should go to lunch.
Any second now, I'm expecting one of the boys to wave me down to join them again.
While I walk down the path towards the food court area, I take out the plastic bag with my lunch in it. Yesterday I bought a chicken salad to eat, so hopefully they won't offer me anything tod-
The plastic bag is snatched from my hands really quickly. I wasn't paying attention and I couldn't see who stole it from me.
I turn around to see Beomgyu holding my bag with a smirk on his face as if he was proud of himself.
"Gyu, give me my lunch back. I brought that for me to eat today."
"Hmmmm.... No."
"Why not?" I question while walking up to him with my arms crossed.
"Because we keep offering to get you lunch and everyday you say no, noona. So we figured, we would have to get you lunch if you didn't have one." he said while holding up my salad.
I stand in front of him and reach for my bag, but he lifts it higher.
"Gyu, give me my bag back." I deadpan.
He laughs and holds the bag even higher from my reach which is just plain rude.
I don't even try to jump for it because I know I won't be able to get it anytime soon.
When I just stand there in defeat, he laughs and looks down at me.
"Do you give up yet?"
"Yeah, yeah whatever. Come on." I say and walk over to where the boys usually sit.
He follows behind me with the bag still in hand.
When we get near the table, the other boys turn and smile knowing well what just happened.
I angrily sit at the table next to Soobin, as that's always the spot that's open for me.
"How dare you take my salad hostage." I say to them.
They laugh and Yeonjun reaches for another bag.
"Well we had to do something for you to allow us to buy you food. We couldn't think of anything besides getting rid of the problem before it became a problem." He said as he placed a bag of takeout boxes on the table.
He took the boxes out and handed them to their person, mine being included.
When I open it, I see my favorite order from my favorite takeout place.
I look up in confusion and surprise. "How did you-?"
"We might have asked Soonyoung yesterday about your favorite place to eat because we had this plan ready a few days ago." Yeonjun says quickly.
I forgot Soon gave him her number. Heck Soon and her connections everywhere.
"It was Soobin hyung's idea to ask Soonyoung for your favorite place, noona." Taehyun says.
"Really?" I ask in Soobin's direction.
He looks visibly nervous and shook from the sudden spotlight.
"I- We- Well, we w-wanted to treat you to something you'd like for helping this weekend. And I-I thought it would be nice for us to get you f-favorite place." He explained.
He sounded a lot more nervous than his face let on. Because the gesture was his idea?
Either way, his stuttering and frazzled state is cute and I giggled at his attempt to explain himself.
"Well, thanks guys. You didn't need to treat me to anything though, I would have helped you regardless of if you returned the favor or not." I say.
"Ok well, we got you food, now eat it and the salad doesn't get hurt." Beomgyu says while holding my salad bag up.
We laugh and eat the lunch they got for me. While we eat, we talk about what they are planning to for this weekend and what I'm meant to do.
When we finish and are about to part ways, Beomgyu slides my bag over to me with an innocent smile as if he didn't do anything.
