After leaving the can game booth, Soobin and I decided to start heading back to the dorms as it was getting kind of late. I'm sure we could have stayed out longer, but being a Thursday night, we should head back.

We started walking the way we came, through the park under the rows of streetlights. Our cotton candy bag had been thrown away and Tobin the bunny was tucked safely under my arm.

On the way, we started talking about random things, nothing important. Until we eventually fell into silence and I realized the position we were in.

Like we were the whole time in the festival, we were walking down the sidewalk with our hands connected. Maybe we did it by habit from losing each other at the festival? Either way, I didn't realize until now.

His hand in mine makes me think back to when that guy assumed we were together. The fact that the guy thought we were together isn't what got to me. What did was when Soobin quickly denied it.

It's true, we aren't together. But why did I feel something when Soobin said we weren't? Thinking about it now, I really wouldn't mind if I was in a relationship with Soobin. He's so nice and caring about me and his friends. Even when I don't ask him, he tries his best to protect me. And not to mention, he's so cute even though he is basically a giant.

Oh my god. I think I have a crush on Soobin. (But who doesn't)

At that point, I had started to move my hand a little while it was tucked in his. I didn't realize what I was doing until Soobin spoke up.

"Oh, I didn't realize we were h- I'm s-sorry."

"No, no. It's ok. I actually feel more comfortable this way." I say. It wasn't until the words came out did I realize what I said. The thing was that I was telling the truth.

Soobin nodded slightly and took my hand back into his as we continued to walk.

After a moment of slightly awkward silence, he started talking.

"Jihyun, I- I'm glad I ran into you that day at the cafe."

"Really?" I look up to him.

"Yeah. I meant what I said earlier, that I want to protect you. I really care about you, but in a way I can't describe." He lets out. I know what he means.

"I don't know. I just get a feeling when I'm around you, it's different from when I'm with the guys." Again, I know what he means.

"I'm sorry, I'm kind of just rambling." He smiles slightly.

I return the smile. "It's ok, I understand what you're saying actually."

He looks down at me. "You do?"

"Yeah, I do. I can't explain it either, but I feel the same way."

We continue to look at each other, both of us not having anything to say. We stop walking for a second to take in everything we both had laid out, but before we could say anything-

*drip*

Looking up, the night sky that should have stars dotted all around was now covered by grey clouds rolling in. The moon shone through the clouds only just to give a final bit of natural light for the night.

Soobin and I don't need to say anything to know that we should start running. Being caught in the rain on a cool fall/winter night isn't the best thing. And while, yes, I wouldn't mind missing a class or two, I'm not going to fall behind because I was too sick to work.

Luckly, we had been walking for a bit and we weren't too far from the dorms.

After the first few raindrops fell, it seemed like every second the rain fell a little harder. The ground was already covered with a small layer of water from the beginning sprinkles, so we kept running while trying to not slip and fall on the sidewalk.

Eventually, we made it to my dorm building and rushed under the cover that was over the front doors.

We both stood there for a bit, resting and trying to catch our breath after the unexpected exercise. When we both had calmed down enough, Soobin started laughing.

"W-Why are you laughing?" I huff out.

He straightens up his stance. "Because we got caught in the rain, and not really at the best time either." I nod. Mother nature really does have bad timing sometimes.

"And, look at Tobin."

I look at the bunny under my arm to see his ears all over the place and his carrot almost out of his little hands.

"Aww, poor little guy. He's all wet too, I'll have to figure something out to help him later."

"He'll be fine, just let him dry out for a while. Anyway, do you want me to walk you to your door?" Soobin asks, and I nod.

We quietly walk into the building as a lot of people were probably asleep at this time. And luckily the elevator is ready and waiting for us so we don't have to take the stairs.

Once we reach my door, I turn and face Soobin.

"Thanks for wanting to take a walk today, Soobin. I had a lot of fun, even though we got rained on." We laugh at the last part.

"I had fun too. I-I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"

Tomorrow? What's tomorrow?

"Oh, yeah. I'll probably see you guys at lunch like always right?"

He nods and kind of stares off. I start to punch in the code to my door.

"Oh, are you ok to go to your dorm? You can wait here for the rain to stop if you want."

"No no, I'm fine. There's a cover from here to my building, and it's not that far away either." Soobin quickly stutters out.

I nod and open my door. "Well, good night, Soobin. I'll see you guys tomorrow then."

"Yeah, good night, Jihyun."

"And be careful while walking back to your dorm, please!"

"I'll try!"

I laugh at him and go inside before closing the door and leaning against it.

The big take away from tonight's fiasco:

I have a crush on Choi Soobin.
