Chapter 16

It is now Saturday morning and I'm pretty sure I am actually dying.

Soon was right when she said I would change my mind because last night I stayed up until 3 am, flopping back and forth between going or not.

Right now I'm against the idea because I don't want to be awkward around them ..... But on the other hand I had told Yeonjun I was going to go.

Yesterday he texted me where they were going to be and what time they were meeting up at.

They're supposed to meet at 1:30, but it's already 11 am and I still don't know what I'm doing.

I lay in my bed staring at the ceiling, as if that would give me an answer.

A moment later, Soon bursts through my door.

"What are you doing!?" She demands.

I lazily look at her and let my head fall back on my pillow.

"I'm contemplating whether or not I should go back to sleep." I say.

She shakes her head, walks over to my bed, and pulls my blankets off of me.

I shiver from the cool air on my exposed skin and sit up against the headboard.

"You need to get ready, Jihyun. This is the first time you're going out with people since you met Jae." She says while throwing my blankets back on the bed.

I don't reply to this. She wasn't wrong, sadly. I don't go out to parties or with people I don't know very well. I only go out to events and stuff because Soon asks me to.

After a silent minute, I throw my legs over the edge of the bed and stand up.

"Ok, ok. I'm just worried, Soon. I don't want to make a bad impression, I don't know any of them that well yet." I say.

Soon walks over and takes my hands in hers. "You won't mess up as long as you don't overthink everything like you usually do."

I look away from Soon's eyes, instead I look at the ground. She's right, but I don't know if I'm physically capable of not overthinking things.

I let out a sigh, and nod. I look back up with a new determination, something must have just possessed me because now I'm motivated.

Soon gives a wide smile at my decision and tells me to wait here.

She rushes out of the room before I can even process what is happening. I don't know what she has planned, but I'm genuinely afraid of what she's gonna do.

After a few seconds, Soon comes rushing back into my room with an outfit bag in hand.

(One of these things)

I look at her in confusion, but she shoves the bag into my hands before I can question anything.

"Go change into this. Don't worry about anything, just trust me." she says quickly.

I hesitantly make my way to my bathroom to change. When the door closes, Soon yells from my room.

"And don't look at yourself yet, I want to see your reaction."

I roll my eyes, and open the bag without paying too much attention to the outfit.

Once I have it on, I start to open the bathroom door when it's closed again by Soonyoung.

"Close your eyes! I don't want you to see yourself yet."

I cover my eyes.

"Are they closed?"

"Y-yeah."

I hear the door open and feel a hand pulling me out.

Soon guides me to face the wall with a full body mirror on it and tells me to open my eyes.

When I open them, I'm met with this:

I let out a wide smile, I'm surprised Soon had picked something like this out for me.

"Soon, you picked this out?"

"Yeah. I thought you would want something comfortable, and I know you don't like revealing clothes. Hyejin might have helped me a little also."

I turned around and hugged my best friend as tight as I could. I'm a little shocked that she chose something like this for me, her and Hyejin's style were way different from my own.

As I pull back from the hug I thank her again. "I love it, thank you."

"I'm glad you like it. Ok, now let me do your hair and makeup, then you can be on your way." She says enthusiastically.

I nod and we head into my bathroom to start.

A/N

I'm posting this a day early because of the holiday! (Expect the same next week for New Years)

This chapter was also kind of a filler chapter, but I wanted to write Jihyun's thoughts before she left her dorm. I promise that the next chapter will be much more exciting, especially towards the end 😏.

If anyone was wondering about possible "heated" moments in this story and possible other stories I write, no. I don't write smut, there's not much else to it.

Anyway, today is Christmas (for those who celebrate). So how about we all sit back all day and enjoy the season. If you have snow where you live, go out and enjoy it (I've only seen snow where I live twice in my life).
