Chapter 2

I close my computer and stretch out my back. I've been working on the same essay for 3 hours now, and I'm finally done with it.

Just as I stand up, I hear the front door open.

Oh no.

I don't even reach my bed when an annoyed Soonyoung enters my room.

"You. Me. Kitchen. Now." She demands.

I get up and follow her to the kitchen, I'm not worried in the slightest about what's gonna happen. We always go to the kitchen to talk about important things, or when Soon wants to rant about the latest episode of her favorite drama.

She sits in one of the chairs. "Ok, so wh-"

"Wait." I cut her off. Before she starts, I make sure to set the rice cooker going and get some tea for us. Once both our cups are filled with the hot liquid, I set them down for us and sit in my chair across from Soon.

I take a sip of tea and nod my head for her to start.

"Ok so, why didn't you text me earlier?" She asks.

"Text you? Why did I need to text you?"

"I told you yesterday, text me when you get out of class. I was planning on having our monthly discussion on why you should be thanking me over the phone featuring Hyejin." She rambled.

I take a deep breath and exhale. I knew she was going to say something like this. Yeah, she's not joking when she says monthly discussions. I somehow get out of the topic every time by ordering food or calling for a binge weekend.

"Soon, I love you, you know that? And I'm happy you dragged me out of my comfort zone that one fateful day. But haven't I repaid my thanks with the take-out and hours of watching your shows with you?" I laugh out.

"Yeah, but I played Cupid for you and got you an amazing boyfriend of 1 year now. Who knows where you would have been if I didn't help you?" She says.

I mean, she's right. I honestly couldn't have gotten a boyfriend without someone making the first move, but I'm not that helpless, I think.

"Wow, Soon. I thought we were best friends, now you don't believe in me?" I started fake crying.

"Oh my god, Jihyun I'm sorry." She got up and hugged me. "Ok, look I won't bother you, just stop crying."

"Ok" I stopped. I look at her face to see betrayal written all over it.

"Hey! That's cheating!" She laughs.

"Well, you said you would stop pushing the topic. And last time I checked you said you don't break your promises." I said. I got up and started fixing us dinner.

"Fine, I'll stop. Anyway, what are your plans for Sunday? Hyejin heard about a party to go to, and I think you need to get out." She said.

"Ok first, you know I don't go to those kinds of things. Second, you shouldn't go out on Sunday, we have school the next day. And third, I can't go out, you remember what happened last time we went out without Jae." I reminded her.

She sighed and nodded, she couldn't argue with me if Jae was involved. The last time Soon took me out without Jae knowing, he got so worried and refused to leave me alone for a week.

I appreciate Jae being worried for me, and he's a great boyfriend, he just can be possessive sometimes. But it's ok, I think it's cute when he gets all clingy to me, it makes me feel loved and wanted.

After we ate, we settled on the couch and started browsing through the channels. We ended up watching Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which is the best HP movie, argue with me. I dare you.

At some point, Soon fell asleep on my lap. I guess she had a busy day today, then again she always does when she's with Hyejin.

I turn off the TV and start to move Soonyoung to her room, the couch isn't a desirable place to sleep. I guide her to bed and turn off the lights.

Heading to my room, I lay in bed scrolling through Twitter and fantasizing about tomorrow. The agenda is supposed to be a surprise, anyway the day goes, I'm excited to spend the day with Youngjae.

A/N

Here's a random fact no one asked for:

The name Jihyun is the name I use in place of my own name when I read Y/N stories. Personally, I find it a little weird to use my own name, so I made a fake one. Also, Jihyun's last name, Waein, is supposed to sound like the letters YN.

I don't know why I added this, it's not important.
