Some evenings are good and some are tiring, and this was a tiring one. The sun was setting down, giving people a glimpse of the picturesque view.
After some awkward conversation with Amy. It was finally time for the big event to unfold; the opening of their café.
Myra stood in front of the mirror and took a good look at herself, she was wearing traditional clothes, which comprised of a long skirt, with a blouse on top and dupatta.
She spaced out for a moment, last night's events came crashing to her mind.
She took a deep breath tried not to think about any of those, since today their café was finally opening. She needed to focus on that.
Myra climbed down the flight of stairs. Dee was in the kitchen assembling all the sweet boxes for Diwali, just then the doorbell rang.
"Myra, I'll see it. Would you please go to Amy's room and get the documents for the café? It's in the first drawer on your right." Dee said putting the sweet boxes on the kitchen counter and went to answer the door.
Amy wasn't home, Dee told her to go to the café first since someone had to be there.
Myra went inside Amy's room. She opened the drawer which Dee asked her to open and found the papers. Just as she was about to close the drawer, she found a photo sticking out of a box kept inside the drawer.
Curiosity got the best of Myra, she went forward and opened the box. She picked up the photo and saw his dad looking very young and was standing with a girl, she had her head leaned on her father's shoulder and was clutching his arm.
They looked close, the girl somewhat looked familiar. But she knew that girl wasn't her mother in the photo, she was someone else. She put the photo back in the box. Does her father had an girlfriend before her mother?
She saw another photo sticking out underneath a letter.
Myra thought that this was a good opportunity to look at all the old photos. It's wasn't like she never saw her parents photos, she did.
But she didn't see these photos, that were kept in Amy's small box. It felt as if Amy didn't want anyone to see these photos.
She picked up and saw the photo, she looked at the photo carefully.
In the photo was her father looking dashing in a suit and was standing beside a man in a similar suit. To her surprise, she recognized the man standing beside his father.
"MYRA, IS EVERYTHING OKAY? YOU'RE TAKING TOO LONG. MR. RAO IS HERE. COME BETA LET'S GO!" Dee shouted.
Myra closed the box and placed it where she had found it, she took the documents and dashed off.
She saw Vijay helping Dee carry the sweet boxes, he wasn't missing any opportunity of smiling at Dee. It was as if he was a was a completely different person in front of Dee.
"Myra what is wrong dear, why are you standing there? Are you alright?" Dee asked her voice laced with concern.
Her mind was somewhere else, she was busy thinking about the photo. Only question that kept coming back in her mind was, what are they not telling me?
"Nothing grams. I'm alright anyway, how do I look?" Myra said giving her skirt a twirl.
"You look gorgeous love." Dee said and kissed her forehead.
Seeing this Vijay piped in said, "What about me Divya?"
Dee walked towards him and stopped when she was few inches away from him and. Seeing their close proximity Vijay blushed and by now his mind had reached several conclusions "You don't have to do this Divya, I mean Myra is here-"
