The sun was setting and the hottest day was coming to an end. A peaceful silence laid over the Menon's house which was very unlike, given the chaotic state of affairs that they endured and not to forget Amy's eccentric behaviour.
Soft 90s music was playing in the living room with Dee sitting peacefully on one of the sofas in the living room reading a classic novel and Myra was finishing her homework.
Dee was enjoying this peaceful moment and wanted it to last longer. But as fate would have it, this peaceful moment didn't last long. With a sudden outbreak of rapping on the door and Amy screaming from the other end, this notified Dee, that the peaceful moment has shattered.
Dee looked as if she was enjoying this situation a lot, because this time she was the one who had a upper hand in the situation not the other way around.
Dee deliberately moved more slowly so as to irritate Amy more who by now looked as if she would break the door. Had Dee not have opened the door on time.
Dee swiftly opened the door with a mock sweet smile on her face trying to resist herself from smirking. Dee mocked a shock expression which angered Amy more.
"Oh my lord Amy! What happened to you?" Dee said with both the hands on her face in a fake shocked expression.
Amy pushed Dee out of the way and turned towards her and stood towering Dee who had her arms crossed and looked at Amy with triumphed expression.
"Don't try to act over smart, you're the artist. Because of you I'm in this state!" Amy shrieked.
Amy did look horrible she looked as if she had escaped from a mental asylum with her hair unkept, her shirt tucked out of her jeans, forehead covered in sweat with a scowl on her face.
"Me? What did I do Amy?" Dee said with a hand on her chest feigning innocence
"YOU LEFT ME WITH THAT LUNATIC VIJAY! I'd rather have nightmares than to be left alone with him. The whole time he kept shooting daggers towards me and kept telling how I wasn't fit to live in the society and especially with you! AND BECAUSE OF HIM THE POLICEMEN QUESTIONED ME, BECAUSE HE JUST CALMLY CLOSED EYES AS IF THIS WAS A USUAL THING FOR HIM!!" Amy shouted like a banshee her voice echoing in the whole house.
"It was nothing as compared to what you made us go through this morning and might I add our BURNT house". Dee said coolly.
Before they could insult each other any further, Dee's phone started ringing.
"Hello, may I know who is speaking?" Dee replied.
"Hello good evening mam. I am Dhruv, Myra's classmate, can I talk to her mam?" Dhruv replied.
Amy's ears perked up when she got to know that it was a boy's call.
"Oh yes dear, I'll hand over the phone to her." Dee stated.
With Amy hot on Dee's heels they both went to Myra's room. With a soft knock on the door Dee opened the door.
"Myra beta, its a call for you." Dee remarked while pushing Amy away, who by now had her ears glued to the phone.
A call for her? Who could've called on grams phone? Myra thought because everyone of her friends had her number.
Taking the phone from her grams, Myra replied confusingly
"Hello...? Who's this?"
"Hello, this is wet t-shirt speaking. Remember me?" Dhruv said in a casual tone.
And this was enough for Myra to know who was on the other end of the phone.
"Dhruv!" Myra stated surprised
