"Home sweet home." Myra had never thought that she would say that in Mumbai of all the places. But it is what it is, Myra thought resting her head on her grams shoulder looking at marine drive through the window of the cab, since it was evening the sunset was making the whole view picture perfect. She reached for a camera, rolled the window down and clicked a picture.
When their house got burnt, she had clutched the camera tightly and ran downstairs with Dee.
"When are we going reach Amy?" Myra asked Amy eagerly waiting to see how her new home looked. She secretly wished it was better than their previous small house.
"I think it would take 20 minutes to reach." Amy said looking at wrist watch.
"OH MY FUCKING GOD!!" Myra said her eyes and mouth wide open in an expression of stunned surprise she turned her face towards her grannies.
Amy had a smug look on her face but of course Dee being dee she had a disapproving look on her face.
"How many times have I told you not to curse! Young girls like you should not curse, you should act more elegantly. What would the cab driver say?!" Dee whisper yelled last part in Myra's ear.
Myra and Amy both looked at each other and rolled their eyes.
"Amy why didn't you tell me that we had such a beautiful house here in Mumbai?" Myra asked perplexed. The house was white in colour, it had two floors a large balcony on the second floor. The veils crept on the balcony of the second floor. The entry gate which is mostly on the center was on the extreme left.
They entered the premises of the house. Myra saw the garden it was so well kept, it looked so well kept, like Amy told her how the house was on rent for these years. Whosever lived here, had great love for plants. The rectangular shaped garden was lined with flower pots on it's side. The garden gate was U shaped, covered with black paint it had veils creeping on it from both sides and there were beautiful pink flowers blooming on the veil.
They walked towards the house's door, the door was big U-shaped brown oak door.
"Amy why am I getting to know about our house here in Mumbai now?" Myra asked with a stern expression and looked at Amy.
"I must've forgotten since we left this place a long time ago." Amy said while opening the main gate and walking across the garden to the main door.
"Yeah and I'm stupid, as if I'm going to buy your excuse." Myra retorted dryly.
"You put it on rent and again why didn't -" Myra said but was cut off by Dee.
"We can have this question and answer session later Myra." Dee said with a bit of sharpness in her tone while giving the keys of the house to Amy.
Myra wanted to ask more question but looking at her grams expression made her not to.
Not giving the matter another thought she went inside to get some good sleep that she had been lacking since a few days. And since, they had lots of work to do tomorrow, better to get some sleep.
Before she went in, she went to Amy and stood on her toes and whispered in Amy's ear, "You're forgiven by me for burning down our house."
Apparently Dee heard it too and she was not someone who would forgive matters and this is a burnt house we're talking about, which is obviously a very big thing.
"Well I haven't. I never will because of your carelessness we were nearly homeless!" Dee yelled at Amy.
Myra knew this was going to last for a while so she went to whichever room she liked to sleep. The bantering and throwing insults at each other continued for a while, before Myra finally drifted to sleep.
