Why is she so sad. It's just Dhruv who is ignoring her. No, but it's Dhruv who's ignoring her. He means more than and that is where Myra stopped the chain of her thoughts. She was on the verge of pulling her hair out, she was lying on her bed, her room and her life; both the things have something in common. It was a mess.
Myra got dressed up, and made a list of things she wanted to buy from the super mart near their house. She's glad super mart is near their house, not like Delhi.
Myra was crossing the road, and saw a guy crossing the road and then suddenly she saw Dhruv's face instead of that guy, smiling at her. Myra squinted her eyes to see clearly, then someone moved past Myra on a bicycle and she thought she literally saw and Dhruv was winking at her. She was so shocked she couldn't move, the prospect of Dhruv winking at her made her heart beating faster.
Now she's getting hallucinations of Dhruv too. First dreams now this. That day is not far when she'll start seeing a halo behind Dhruv, too. She sighed and entered the super mart and saw two couples. Myra couldn't mask her irritation and was unintentionally glaring at them.
She can't understand why she getting irritated at these couples and why there are so many. Do they have to rub it in other people's faces, Myra thought to herself and saw Vijay putting stuff in his basket.
He had a solemn expression on his face, he didn't look like the usual Vijay.
Myra suddenly felt her cheeks getting hot, really hot. She felt bad for lying to Vijay and he even made a fool out of himself in the morning. But he can't be sad about that. Myra was too busy in her thoughts that she didn't realize that Vijay had now stood right beside her and was quietly taking stuff from the shelf, without glancing at her.
"Namaste uncle." Myra said not meeting his eyes, she was too embarrassed.
"Namaste beta." Vijay said not even looking at Myra. He looked so sad, this was not the Vijay Myra was used to seeing. Myra started to feel even more guilty. She thought of apologizing and but till then he had reached the counter, he gave his space to a small child and a lady and that was so unlike him. Had he been the old Vijay he would've caused a ruckus had someone asked him to stand in line before him.
Myra quickly went to the counter and stood behind Vijay who was paying for his stuff, Myra quickly got her billing done but she was short of 20 bucks, she searched her each and every pocket and then suddenly heard someone say, "Here 20 bucks." Myra looked and saw Vijay giving it to the cashier.
"Uncle but-"
"It's fine beta." Vijay said quietly and left a really shocked and guilty Myra standing there.
"Grams, is something wrong with Vijay uncle?" Myra said as she opened the door, and saw her ears perked up at the sound of his name. She came rushing towards Myra and asked hastily. A little amount of worry evident in her voice, "What happened to him?"
"Nothing happened, he looked really sad. You know not the normal Vijay and we owe him 20 bucks, I was short of that so he payed for me." Myra said keeping her stationaries on the table beside her.
"I'll go and give return the money." Dee said and dashed out of the house. Both Amy and Myra looked at Dee and then looked at each other, both of them somehow had the slightest hint of what was going on.
Dee reached his house and for some reason, she was feeling a bit hesitant about ringing the doorbell, but then she finally did and waited. She wrung her hands showing her nervousness.
Why is she feeling so hesitant? She's here to return the money then why is she bothered whether he is sad or not? It was his fault that he-. Dee's chain of thoughts had seemed to stop, Vijay opened the door and gave a small smile to her.
