1 YEAR LATER
"Amy, is everything ready? And how do I look?" Myra said referring to her pink lehenga.
"You are looking absolutely stunning dear. Give that thali to me and go meet Dee. She is sitting inside all nervous." Amy ushered Myra to go inside.
"Amy, by the way you also look good in this saree." Myra said smiling at Amy, Amy smiled and ruffled Myra's hair and ushered her to go.
"Hey grams! You look lovely in this red saree." Myra insisted that Dee should wear a lehenga but Dee declined. Yesterday at the church wedding, she had worn a white saree despite Myra's protests.
"But why do you look sad grams, did something happen? It's your wedding day, you should be happy." Myra said sitting next to Dee, who didn't have the same smile, she had yesterday when they had the church wedding.
Everyone was shocked when the priest told them to kiss and they didn't stop. All the guests waited one minute, then two minutes but they just keep kissing. Amy recorded a video of them. Saying it is the best best blackmail video she has ever had. It was uncomfortable for Myra to watch her grandmother kissing. But nonetheless, everything went well yesterday.
"Grams?"
"It's nothing. You know the same old thoughts are coming in my mind. Is this appropriate? Even though it's too late. You know, like what would people say?" Dee said looking at herself in the mirror. Well she didn't have these thoughts in mind when she was senselessly kissing Vijay yesterday.
"Grams people are going to say things, some good and some bad. Just because they are going to say things that doesn't mean, we'll stop doing what we feel happy with. If Mom and dad were here they both would've been delighted. And no matter what grams, me, Amy and Vijay uncle, we're always there for you." Myra said squeezing her grandmother's hands. Dee's eyes started brimming with tears, she hugged Myra tightly. The mention of her daughter made her emotional, how she missed Meira everyday.
"You forgot about me!" Amy said coming into the room, and joined into the group hug.
"Divya, thank you for always being with me. You always endured all my weird antics. I don't think I would've come this far had it not been for you. So this is my wedding gift for you." Amy said her voice thick with emotion. Dee stood up and hugged Amy. Myra had kept her camera in the room and captured the emotional moment, smiling and being thankful that all was good.
"Come on now, your lover boy- oh sorry your husband is all restless without you!" Amy said chuckling. Myra was thankful that everyone was happy, last year's events were a lot to take in.
"Blue t-shirt, how do I look? Do I look dashing? Why is my Divya not here yet?" Vijay said pulling onto Dhruv's coat.
"Uncle, she'll be here in a minute." Dhruv said removing Vijay's hands from his jacket.
