Myra was sitting in her balcony, the only place that offered her some solace from her chaotic life.
She had a mug of coffee in one hand and her camera in another, whenever something happens which throws Myra off track, though nothing of this great level has occurred in her life before. Clicking photographs, or looking at photos on her camera, made her feel better.
"Myra, how are you feeling? You looked a bit you know distressed." Dee said, feeling a bit worried. Lately, Myra's been distant and she knew she had a large part to play in it. They shouldn't have just pushed her father's matter aside as if it was an unimportant thing. But now what's done has been done. She still wanted to tell Myra about her father but Amy don't want to open the old wounds as it was still too painful for her.
"Uh well," Myra said looking down, choosing her words carefully. She can't tell her about Dhruv. Dee would freak out.
"Nothing, some idiot didn't see while driving and splashed all the dirty water onto me." Myra said firmly.
"Oh I see. Well how are you now? You know what I mean, after that incident?" Dee asked not wanting to say the whole thing about Amy.
"Well, to be very honest. No, I don't feel okay. I'm so pissed off at her, but no she's not gonna say anything now. What am I supposed to do?" Myra said infuriated.
"I know and I'm not going to defend her actions too. But you have to understand Anshuman is her only son and he died before her at such an early age. I can understand how agonizing that is." Dee tried explain her and sit beside at the futon in her balcony.
"So tell me then did you also lie to me about my mother's death?" Myra asked looking straight ahead not wanting to meet Dee's eyes. Earlier whenever someone mentions her daughter's death she just can't bear talking any longer but now it is easier.
"No. She indeed left giving birth to you." Dee said with misty eyes holding Myra's hand and giving it a squeeze.
"Then why lie to me about my Dad?"
"Because I got to say goodbye to my daughter but she didn't get that chance. She was waiting for son to return home that night not for a call informing of his death. In a way she wanted to believe that he did left us in an accident. That it was easier. And no matter how much time has passed it is never easy to get over our loved one's departure."
Myra couldn't say anything to this. Still, it didn't make it any better that they lied to her about something so important and even now they were refusing to tell her.
And after every minute or two a certain guy named Dhruv popped into her head, spoiling her mood further. Whenever she thought of him or saw him she just wanted to kiss him and punch him at the same time.
Just then Vijay came out and stood in his balcony which directly faced their garden and her room's balcony was clearly visible as it faced his balcony. His face lit up seeing them both sitting there but obviously it was because of Dee. At least someone is happy, Myra thought dryly.
"Hello Myra! How are you?" He asked in a chirper voice which irritated her.
"No-"
"Good to know, you're fine." He said answering himself, and averted his eyes towards Dee, who was looking down a bit of a smile on her face.
"But-" Myra was about say that she is not feeling fine, but seeing how Vijay's eyes were locked her on her grams and her grams was looking down smiling like a new bride. This was some 80s Bollywood scene she was witnessing before her eyes.
"And a certain someone is looking gorgeous in her blue saree." He said looking at Dee with a smile. Myra is not surprised at his comment. He always tried to compliment her grams every time chance he got.
