Dark Angel (GirlxGirl)

Chapter 32

Soleil

One million comets. That's what it looked like as all able light angels descended from the light realm to the dark. Eve was at the front. Dove, Angelina, and I cover her sides. As we go down a tear hit my cheek, it's Eve's. I can hear her mumbling to herself, hoping that her only daughter is safe. I do the same. This is all my fault! My only wish is to correct my wrong before it is too late.

We get near the dark gates, the scouts come to meet us with their guns pointed right at us. I fly ahead of the angels. When the dark ones see me at the front of the light angels they didn't fire. I take the opportunity to shoot three of them dead. This brought panic to the rest of the group, and Eve delivers the fatal blow to the rest. As I loot a few dead angels Eve shouts orders.

"Go! Search the entire realm! Find my daughter, but no harm is to come to Raven! She's mine to deal with." Angels start to pour into the dark gates. Before Eve goes in I grab her arm.

"You know better than to let your anger cloud you. She's either in the arena or the castle. I'll check the castle." Eve nods.

"I'll be over there if I don't find anything." Eve goes through the gates. Angelina comes up and hugs me.

"We are going with her. Good luck." She and Dove go into the realm. I take a deep breath and fly in, it's a total war zone. Light and dark angels are fighting, struggling, and some are dead or dying. I clutch onto my machete and pistol tightly. I fly through the chaos as quickly as I can. The castle was no different, it too was in complete mayhem. I see Kia defending the front gate.

I swoop down and stab her in her stomach. She and her bonded partner yell in agony. I through her aside, shot anyone else that was in my way, then entered the building. Raven would have Izzy taken to the throne room. She wouldn't  have brought her to her personal room. I start running through the halls. Dark angels come out and try to stop me, but they are easily taken care of. After I kill another dark angel I hear a scream come from the throne room. It was an all too familiar scream.

"Isabelle!" I dart to the double doors of the throne room. With a hard kick I bust down the doors. I walk in and see Isabelle with a knife to her throat, Raven is the one holding the knife.

"Well, well. We were wondering when you would show up. I'm glad you did, I wanted you to see me cut right through her throat."

"Raven don't you do it!"

"Or what? What will you do?" I stare at Raven then at Izzy. She stares back at me with tears in her eyes. I make my decision. I put my pistol to my head. Raven's eyes go wide with terror.

"What are you doing?!"

"Soleil no!" Izzy yells.

"If you kill her Raven, then I'll have nothing left. I might as well not live, so either you let her go or I shoot myself."

"You know what will happen if you do that!"

"I don't care! I won't let you hurt her! Let her go now!" Raven grips on tighter to Isabelle. The knife is so close against her neck the tip of the knife cuts into her neck. Red liquid blood starts to flow from the cut... This is it. I'll have to shoot myself. I never thought I would die like this, but it's what I was meant to do in the first place. I am Isabelle's protector, and her life comes before mine.

"Isabelle." I say softly to her, "Close your eyes. It will all be over soon."

"Don't you do it Soleil!" Raven yells at me, "You still belong to me! That ring, that mark on your wing, and that necklace around your throat shows that you are mine." I glare at her, drop my machete, and rip the necklace off then throw it on the ground.
