Chapter 7

If Asha hates me for trying to get close to Kuya Ice, then I hate her for cheating on him. And I hate myself too for not being able to tell him.

I still have the video in my phone and ever since that day, I haven't seen Kuya Ice coming over. I don't know if he's just busy or they broke up already. Hinayaan ko nalang din. If they really broke up, Kuya Ice might need time, I don't want the video to add up to his heartbreak, iyon ay kung hindi niya pa iyon alam.

Ever since that day, Asha became very distant to everyone too.

"Asha, aren't you eating breakfast?" Mom asked her one morning while we're all infront of the dining table and she stood up to say she's leaving already. Ni hindi pa siya kumakain.

She glanced at me, "I'm not hungry Mom."

Even when she hated me before, she never acted like this. She can eat quietly with us. But these past few days, she just keeps on refusing everything.

"Are you in a hurry? I'll drive you to school--"

She didn't let Kuya finish and she's already shaking her head. "I'm fine, bye.."

That didn't happen once, it happened in the succeeding days until the day that I will be leaving for Philippines.

"Asha, the plan is we're all going with Coleen. Ihahatid natin siya.." Mommy said when Asha told us that she's not coming with us.

"I'm busy Mom.." she said while sitting boredly at the couch.

Nakabihis na kaming lahat at isinasakay na ang mga luggage sa van nang naabutan namin siyang naka-pambahay at mukhang kagigising palang na nakaupo sa sofa. Mom is so shocked. Matagal nang plano na sasama sila lahat sa Pilipinas para ihatid ako at para na rin bumisita sa mga Altamirano.

"Just leave without me Mom, I'm not going, I'm busy.."

"Asha.." Kuya Fifth called her. Saka palang siya tumingin sa amin. Kanina pa siya busy sa phone niya.

"You have to come with us, we can't leave you here alone."

She rolled her eyes, "Why do you need me to come? I don't have anything to do there and I'm not a kid, I can take care of myself here. It's not like you're taking care of me when you're all here."

My eyes widened at what she said. Napatingin ako kay Mommy, she looks shocked too. Thankfully, Dad is still upstairs. If he heard Asha saying this, he'll probably scold her.

"Asha hija.." Nilapitan na siya ni Mommy. I saw how she looked away.

Makikinig pa sana ako sa pag-uusapan nila pero inakbayan na ako ni Kuya at dinala na patungo sa van.

"Is Asha okay, Kuya? She's been acting weird.."

He sighed. He let me get inside the van first before him, umupo siya sa tabi ko. "She'll be fine, Mom will talk to her.."

"Paano kapag hindi siya sumama?"

He shrugged and tucked some strands of hair behind my ear, "We'll respect her decision and leave. The maids are all here and Mom will probably call Tita Yasmin to look after her for a while."

I nodded.

We waited inside the car. Panay ang sulyap ko, umaasang nakumbinsi ni Mommy si Asha. But to my dismay, silang dalawa lang ni Daddy ang lumabas ng bahay at sumakay na rin sa van.

"Mommy where's Asha?" I asked her immediately.

Nilingon niya ako at nginitian, "She wants to stay here, hayaan na natin siya anak.."
