Chapter 13

I finally got some sleep and woke up. I moved my hand on the bed. Meredith wasn't there. I grabbed my phone and looked at the clock.

1 pm

"Shit" I said to myself

I got up and took a quick shower. We were supposed to get Halloween costumes today. I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my waist. I was moving too fast and got really dizzy. I brushed my teeth and stood there for a few minutes after. I walked out of the bathroom and ran my hair through my wet hair. I laid on the bed. There was a knock on the door

"Derek you awake" she asked

"Yes" I said

She walked into the room and shut the door.

"Are you okay to go with us today or do you want to stay in bed" she asked

"I think I'm ready" I said

I got up and went to the dresser. I put my boxers and socks on. I put tan pants and a white button up shirt on. I grabbed a white belt and put it in the loops on my waistband.

"You ready" she smiled walking over to me

She fixed my collar and flattened it. I leaned down and kissed her lips.

"I love you" I smiled pecking her lips again

I held her hand and we walked out of the room.

"You guys ready" Zola asked

"Yes little miss" I said pointing to her and scrunching my nose

I grabbed some eggs and toast that Amelia made. I ate enough that I could keep down. Amelia walked down the steps. I held the kids hands and we all walked out of the room. I put the kids in the car and buckled them up. I sat back with them with Mer and Amelia in the front seats. We arrived at party city and we all got out of the car. We walked into the store and Amelia went with the kids. Mer and I were going to pick out out Halloween decorations because we were going to have a little party with the family and their kids. She grabbed a basket

"Ooo this is cute" she said holding up black paper plates with ghosts, pumpkins, and zombies on it with confetti.

"Yeah those are cool" I said.

She grabbed the matching bowls and napkins. I grabbed plastic silverware and a black and orange packet of balloons. I put them in the basket. I found a orange pumpkin candy bowl that looked cool. I put it in the basket. Mer and I walked over to the kids who were by the selection of costumes. Bailey had a captain america costume with the shield. I put them in the basement and the girls were still looking for costumes. I went over to the adult costumes.

"Mer come here" I said laughing

"What" she said walking over to me

I pointed at a witch costume that barely had anything

"Oh wow what is that" she smiled

"I'm getting it" she said

"Only for me then yeah" I said back

"Wow" she said rolling her eyes

She went back over to the kids. I walked over to the vampire section and grabbed fake blood. I was going to mess with her so bad. I grabbed fake vampire teeth and a vampire cape to make it not look suspicious. I kind of wanted to be a vampire too. I walked over to them and put my costume in Mer's basket. Ellis grabbed a little pumpkin costume.

"Be a vampire with me. I'll turn you into one" I whispered in a laugh

"Fine" she smirked

I went back over and grabbed more teeth and a vampire costume for her. I dropped it in the basket when I came back. Zola grabbed a witch costume.
