Chapter 31

I was playing with Haley's little finger. Ugh she's so tiny. There was loud thunder.

"Oh no" Mer whispered

Haley started crying. I held her over my shoulder and patted her back

"Shhh it's okay. Don't cry" I whispered

Another loud noise of thunder hit. She started crying even more

"Here I got her" Mer said

I turned around and Mer wiped her hands from the wings. I handed Haley to her. She took her breast out and tried to feed her. She wouldn't latch on. She finally did and I sighed with relief. I took one of Mer's wings and ate it.

"My office is pretty quiet if you want to bring her in there" I said

"Ok yeah that'll work" she said

I nodded and took Haley's bassinet. I walked out of the room and you could hear the heavy rain outside. I went into my office and set the bassinet up with a baby blanket. I went back into my bedroom and Haley fell asleep for now. Mer changed her shirt and I helped her get up. I grabbed Haley and walked to the kitchen.

"What's going on" Amelia asked

"She hates storms" I said

Another thunder strike hit

"Crap" I said walking fast to my office as Haley woke up

I walked in and shut the door. I put sound proof metal on the door.

"Sorry it's not what you think I do in here. It helps me think better" I said because she was looking at me weird

"It's fine" she laughed

I nodded and put Haley in her bassinet. I tried to tickle her to make her stop crying. I started making funny faces at her. She started giggling. I kissed her little head and wrapped her in the baby blanket. I sat in my rolling chair and mer sat in hers. I went over to the computer

"Does this have those videos on it" she asked

"Porn" I asked

"No- what" I said

"I'm kidding I really don't watch that stuff. I mean I do, but to learn" I said

"Oh yeah me too it's really helpful" she smiled

"But I mean the ones about DC" she said

"I don't- I don't think you want to watch them" I said

"I do" she said

"Well I don't. I can't watch them again" I said tearing up

"Here" I said opening the file on the computer

I handed her some headphones. She started tearing up

"Derek can you please watch it with me. I'm here now. It's okay" she said

"Meredith I hate myself for this" I said

"We're okay now. I just want to remember something" she said

"Fine" I said

I turned the volume up and started opening the video files.

"Are you ready" i asked

"Yes" she said

I played the video. Renee was in the room with Mer. I could hear Mer's screams. I paused it.

"Mer I can't" I said tearing up

"Just a couple more seconds" she whispered

I played it and waited a few seconds.
