Maria's POV
The next day went smoothly, Stefan had managed to get the location of the last white oak stake out of Alaric, unfortunately it was stuck in the cave where no vampires were allowed. But perhaps that was the safest place for it after all, assuming Alaric didn't go psycho again.
Rebekah had been busy all day with the decade dance that was happening tomorrow night, surprisingly, Matt had asked her to go and she seemed really ecstatic about it. I was happy for her, she deserved to be loved by one of the best guys I knew and that was Matt. I was praying it worked out for the both of them.
When night fall approached, Klaus finally came home. He had been gone for a few hours.
"There you are, how are you feeling?" He asks as soon as he spots me, "I'm feeling alright?" I reply, which comes out sounding more like a question.
He chuckles, "I have something I want to show you, it's outside."
I raise an eyebrow at his suspicious behaviour, but grab his hand that was reaching out for me anyway. He smiles and leads me outside, "You're not going to kill me, are you?" I joke, as we walk towards the garage.
"I'd sooner die myself."
I roll my eyes playfully at his words, we stop outside of the garage door and I stare at it confused, looking over at him.
"Uhh.. it's your garage?"
He still has that excited smile on his face, then suddenly the garage door opens. I'm only confused for a few more seconds before I spot the source of his excitement.
"No way.." I mutter under my breath, my old car.
The memories of Chicago come back as I trace my hand along the side of it, this car was old as hell.
When I first met Klaus, this was the car I had.
"How did you.. is this.. how.."
Klaus chuckles at my loss of words, "It's not the exact same car. I had a hard time finding this one. It's an exact replica of yours though."
I was still speechless, seeing this brought back so many memories.
"Oh my god.. I can't believe you found this. The back seat even has those small ashtrays!" I say, probably way too excitedly.
Klaus smirks, as he comes to stand beside me to look into the car. His hand placed gently on my lower back, "I made sure ever detail was the same, it even has that rip in the leather from when I -"
Immediately I put my hand over his mouth, he still talks with it there though, so I move it away,
"you for the first time. You liked that, didn't you?" His voice easily becoming seductive.
I roll my eyes, a smile forming on my face. "I still love it. Never stop doing it." I reply, his smirk only deepens and just as he leans in to kiss me, I push him away lightly and open the car door.
He chuckles but walks around the car to get into the drivers side. I run my hands over the dash board, it was so crazy I was sitting in here once again. The 20's were a long long time ago, I knew there was still cars around from way back then but to see one that looked exactly like mine? It brought me so much happiness.
Klaus, who had been staring at me the whole time, placed his hand on the ignition. "Wanna go for a drive?"
"It actually works?!"
He only smiles at my response, he turns the large key in the ignition and the car comes to life. Sure it takes a few seconds and it shakes a bit, but it really works.
