Maria's POV

Being stuck in a tomb with Katherine and Stefan was torture, I tried to get some sleep. My back was faced to them, but they were both still getting on my nerves with their constant bickering.

Stefan was getting noticeably weaker, due to his animal blood diet. Which meant Katherine was able to get into his head easily. I didn't like it, but Katherine was stronger then me now.

"Stay out of my head!" Stefan suddenly yelled and I didn't bother to turn around, I remained silent and stared at the wall.

"Why? I know you miss those moments with me Stefan, just admit it to yourself. You love me." Katherine replied, I could tell she was grinning, and I was minutes away from loosing it and snapping my own damn neck, just to escape both of them for an hour or so.

"I don't love you Katherine. You've done terrible things.. You manipulated and compelled me when I was human, you used me and my brother. You gave us your blood without our knowledge which made us into a vampire, and worst of all, you took my sister away from me and painted me as the bad guy." Stefan spoke sternly, my body froze as the last part left his mouth. I didn't know what to say or think.

Katherine giggled at his words, "What do you want me to say about it Stefan? That I'm sorry? Because I'm not. I did those things to protect you and Maria. I always wanted to protect you and her."

Stefan scoffed at her words, "Protecting Maria? You almost killed her! Several times! You don't do that to people you claim to love."

Katherine remained quiet, and now I felt awkward. I didn't know if I should get up and put in my two cents, or stay still.

"I love you Stefan. I always have." Is what Katherine chooses to say, and that makes me remain still. "How do I know that?" Stefan asked a moment later and I hold my breath.

"I know how to find Klaus. Will that prove it to you? Isobel, Elena's birth mother, knows where he is. Find Isobel, she'll lead you to him."

"And you're not lying?" He asked and before she can answer, foot steps are heard, I got up instantly at that.

I look at Stefan and he's already making his way to the entrance of the tomb, I follow closely behind him.

My blood runs cold as I see who standing there.

Elijah stares at both Stefan and I with a teasing grin on his face, "Back from the dead, that's a cool party trick." Is the first thing that comes out of my mouth, I clearly need to learn how to think about things before saying them.

"Quite cheeky you are Ms.Salvatore." Elijah replies and my I feel my cheeks heat.

"Elena and I made a deal, the spell has been lifted from the tomb. You are free to go." I glance at Stefan and he hesitates, so I step forward and walk straight out of the tomb. Stefan follows my lead.

"What kind of deal?" He asks Elijah. "She'll tell you." I keep my mouth shut and begin to walk away.

"Maria! Wait!" I turn to see Katherine at the entrance, her back against the wall, she stares at Elijah but she has a pleading look on her face.

I stop my movements, not sure what to do.

"Please don't leave me here with him." She begs and I stand there completely still, "Enough. You two go along. I'll deal with her." Elijah speaks sternly and Stefan nods, he begins to walk away again.
