Maria's POV

"I'm Alaric." A handsome man with a bright smile says and I smile back, shaking his hand in the process. "Maria."

"I don't think I've seen you around before?" Alaric says and I shrug, "Yeah. I decided to settle down and live with my brothers for a bit, get the normal high school experience." I reply with a shrug and he nods. "Well I hope to see you in my class. I'm teaching this year."

I nod and smile at his words.

"Maria. Lovely to see you here." Damon walks up to me, a tight lipped smile on his face. "You told me to come by, did you not?" I say and he lets out a chuckle. "Right. Forgot about that."

Elena has the same scowl on her face as I introduce myself to everyone.

"Mason Lockwood, I didn't know Damon had a sister." A man who looked almost identical to Tyler suddenly said, I let out a light laugh, "Yeah, before we never saw each other much. But now I'm around for good."

The doorbell rings and echoes through the house, "Ill get it." Elena says out loud and walks towards the door.

Sure enough, the blonde girl who's name I remember is Caroline follows Elena into the question with a preppy step. She seems kind of off, but I assume that's how she always is.

Her eyes widen as she makes eye contact with me, before the same unreadable expression appears on her face.

I follow Damon out and sit on the love-seat couch, Jeremy however surprises me as he sits beside me.

"Hey, how are you?" He asks, I shrug, "Mystic Falls is a bit boring, but other than that- I'm good." I answer truthfully.

"I don't trust her." I hear Elena whisper, I isolate Jeremy for a second and push my hair behind my ear so I can listen carefully.

"What? She's Stefan sister.. I'm surprised you trust Damon more than her." Jenna replies, "Damon's... different. I know him. She came out of no where- I didn't even know she existed until she showed up a few days ago." Elena complains and I stop myself from rolling my eyes.

"Give her a chance, she's young and all she has is Stefan and Damon. Think if it were Jeremy, would you appreciate it if Stefan was constantly cold towards him?" Elena doesn't reply to Jennas words, and she has a point.

Elena doesn't know me, yet she thinks I'm some monster who's only here to hurt people. I haven't even done anything to harm anyone, except maybe help turn Caroline into a vampire, but still- Caroline is fine.

"How about we play some charades before we start feasting?" Damon suddenly suggests and he is welcomed by nods.

---

I watch as Damon awkwardly draws a wolf on a blank sheet of paper, "It's a dog!" Caroline yells and Damon groans, he continues to draw sloppily.

I knew the answer, and I knew Damon was only doing this until Mason got the hint.

"It's a wolf." Mason finally days out loud, an unimpressed look on his face. Damon let's out a fake cheer and I let out a chuckle, my brother is weird.

"I think we'd have enough of this game, how about we eat? I'm starving." Mason suddenly speaks up and everyone agrees, "Hey. I wanna show you something." Jeremy whispers into my ear and reaches his hand out, I look around the room to see everyone distracted with each other, before grabbing his hand and following him up the stairs.

"Nice room." I comment, as I look around the dark room. It really screamed Jeremy.

"Who's this?" I ask, looking at a picture that was hung on his mirror, it was a girl who looked a bit drugged out, but she was beautiful.
