Maria's POV

"So let me get this straight. You impulsively fed on a random teenage girl, fed her your blood and she then died in a car crash two hours later?" Damon asked, his hand on his chin, a determined look on his face.

I look over to Matt and he gives me a small nod, so I face Damon again. "Yeah. That's exactly what happened."

Damon lets out a little hum before looking at Elena and Stefan who sat on the opposite couch, "And you two, almost got killed at the lake house by Tyler's crazy wolf friends who also tried to kill Maria and I for the moonstone, but you ended up killing them all instead?" Damon asked Stefan and both him and Elena nod, nobody was really sure what Damon was getting at.

"Well, I know how to solve one of our problems. Our lovely little sister here got a gift from Katherine, a weapon that can kill an original." Damon tells Stefan and Elena and they make eye contact, "Elena was reading her families journals while we were at the lake house."

"I read that no vampire can kill an original, if you try, the vampire who stakes the original dies with them and in order for the original to stay dead the dagger must stay in them."

I absorb Elena's words, Katherine must've known I'd die if I tried to kill Klaus, was this her plan all along?

An unsettling feeling washes over me, did Katherine not care about me at all?

"I'm gonna go see Katherine to see if this actually works." Damon announces and he looks at me, "I'll stay here and keep the weapon safe." He looks surprised that I don't want to join him, but he makes eye contact with Matt and nods.

"While I do that, I want to let you know I invited several people to dinner tonight. That way we can lure Elijah in and one of you two have to figure out who's putting the time dagger in him." Damon says and looks between Matt and Elena, I furrowed my eyebrows at his words.

Before I can interject, Elena volunteers to do it. Relief floods through me. "It only makes sense that I do it. Elijah doesn't know Matt."

"I won't do it at dinner though so you cancel that, not when Jenna and Alaric are near."

Elena, Stefan and Damon then make a plan for when Elena will stake him. I agree along with it, as long as my brothers were there I knew Elena would be safe and I would be with Matt so it would all work out.

Damon leaves to go see Katherine, Stefan and Elena go up to Stefan's room.

"We have to take care of Beth." I tell Matt, he nods, "What do you want to do about it?" He asks and I shrug, "I can let her die or I can help her transition."

He stares at me with a weird look, "I don't want her to die. She was a role model student, straight A's, captain of the volleyball team, scholarship student." Matt counties on.

I sigh and lean my head back on the couch, "If I turn her, she's my responsibility. I have to make sure she doesn't kill anyone and that she can control herself. It's basically like raising a damn child." I groan and Matt chuckles.

He seemed to making light of this situation, I know he wanted Beth to survive, but if I turn her fully then she's going to be by me for a few years.

"Fine. I'll turn her. But I'm not making her any promises, if she goes out of control in the slightest, I won't hesitate to kill her." I tell him and he nods. He seemed so calm.

"I just want what's best for this town, I know Beth and I know she won't loose control. Not with all she had going for her."

Matt and I head to the hospital, it was easy enough getting in, I didn't even need to compel anyone. Mystic Falls didn't seem to care about patient security.
