It had been a couple of weeks since the recruiting attempt in the cafeteria. It seemed like most people had forgotten about the food fight, which was a relief because the excess amount of slushying was ruining more clothes than Harry would prefer.Things were heating up at McKinley High, so many things were happening at one time. The seniors were diving into the political waters and running for senior class president. A lot of the seniors had already put up campaign posters and were handing out badges.
People were signing up for clubs left and right, but the Glee Club sign-up sheet was still as blank as ever. Lots of the chairs in the choir room remained empty, and Mr. Schue was on a grind to fill them. Luckily, they had enough members to compete at Sectionals, but it would be excellent to have a couple more people.
Harry walked through the halls to the choir room, and walked in, the regular buzz of the students filling his ears. He sat down quietly, hoping no one saw him shuffle in. Like normal, Kurt and Blaine strode towards him, sitting down is the chairs either side of him.
"I have some very exciting news!" Kurt exclaimed. "But I can't tell you until Mr. Schue arrives."
Nodding and showing a fake smile, he slumped back into his chair. The rest of the Glee Kids walked into the room, Mr. Schue following.
"Hey guys! I have a huge announcement to make!" He said with a bright smile.
Then, Kurt interjected. "Mr. Schue can I say something?" He walked up to the front of the room with confidence, a beaming grin on his face. "I'm running for senior class president!"
The room erupted in cheers, and Blaine walked up to Kurt and wrapped an arm around him. Harry smiled a real smile. Kurt deserved this more than anyone else at this school. He was so strong for a 17 year old boy. He lost his mother, and he suffered from so much bullying for being the way he was. Kurt had the biggest heart in this new place.
"Ok, ok everyone sit down. Wow Kurt, that's amazing. You would make an amazing president."
Kurt chuckled. "I thank you in advance for all your votes."
Blaine patted Kurt on the back.
"Now for my big announcement," Mr. Schue started. "I have decided on the musical for this years production." There was a loud pause throughout the room, everyone wanting to hear what it was. "Grease!"
Rachel squealed loudly, and Kurt and Blaine cheered.
Grease. That was a musical, right? He was sure he had heard the name before. Well, it had to be, and it must be pretty good if everyone was so excited.
"Grease is a perfect musical for the glee club. It has a main role that shows off my talent." Exclaimed Rachel.
"A main role that we will have open auditions for." Mercedes said sassily.
Rachel glared at her, but her smile returned when she turned back to Mr. Schue.
Harry made a mental note to watch the movie after the practice. If he was going to do a High School production, he had to know the storyline of the musical a bit. And plus, how bad could it be? Maybe he would figure out he loved musicals. Kurt would be so proud of him.
Mr. Schue clapped his hands. "I have decided to let a student direct the musical this year, because I have a lot on my plate right now, and I don't want to add anything to it. So Artie, will you direct the musical this year?"
"Um, sure." Artie replied hesitantly. "I just don't know if I'm ready for such a huge project. I don't have very much experience."
Mr. Schue smiled. "I know your ready Artie. You are such a talented director. We would all be so glad to have you direct the musical. And I'll get Coach Beiste and Ms. Pillsbury to help you."
