Ginny Weasley

There was no way Harry read that right. But when his eyes grazed over it again, he realized he had.

Weasley

Red hair, freckles, the slight accent, the last name. There was no way it could be a coincidence. Even the small twinkle in her eyes when he said the word 'magic.' When she first saw his scar and she stared not in disgust, but in admiration.

"You coming?" Ginny's voice came from the hallway. Her voice didn't sound the same anymore, only now did Harry realize it sounded like a younger Mrs. Weasley's.

"Yeah," Harry said, and started following her to their first class, which was together.

How had he never thought to ask her last name? Did it just never come up in conversation? He felt so stupid now.

Harry could barely pay attention the rest of the day. The only thing that raced through his head was the neat handwriting on the club sheet. Along with that, a few questions remained.

Does she know about the Wizarding World?

If she does, does she know that I'm the Boy who Lived?

Why isn't she living with the rest of the Weasley's?

Nothing made sense right now, but Harry was determined to find the truth.

When he got home, Harry grabbed a new journal he had lying around and flipped to the first page. He titled it:

What I know about Ginny Weasley:

- she has red hair and freckles (just like the other Weasleys)

- she lives with Mercedes

- she thinks her mother abandoned her when she was a baby

- she always gets this look in her eyes when I hint at something from the Wizarding World

- she has a slight British accent and her voice sounds like Mrs. Weasley's

Harry couldn't think of anything else after that. He decided in his mind that he wouldn't confront her about it, instead learn more and confront her when he felt he had enough evidence.

But then he thought of something else. How did he end up picking the one town in the entire world, and that was the town that one of the Weasleys was in? Harry just couldn't seem to wrap his head around it. Nothing made sense.

The next day after school Harry got a phone call from an unknown caller ID. He picked it up with no further thought, and when the voice sounded through his phone, his heart jumped.

"Harry, I'm 'ere to inform you that you 'ave received the position as an employee at Gaunt Gadgets and Gizmos," said Doyle Gaunt.

Harry smiled widely. "Wow! Thank you, Mr. Gaunt."

"I'd like you to come to my shop twice a week for 'round four 'ours. Of course if you'd like to work more, I'd be fine with that as well. You can pick your days and time; we're open from 9am-8pm every day."

With Glee practice three times a week, the best days were Saturdays and Sundays, but Harry wanted to leave some time for himself on the weekends.

"Mondays and Thursdays work, sir. From . . . 4pm-8pm?"

"Sounds good to me. You start this Monday." Mr. Gaunt hung up the phone.

Harry put his phone down and smiled to himself, forgetting about his homework and the current situation for a minute. He felt better now about his new life. Now he could provide for himself, and he wasn't relying on his parents' money. He was sure that they would be proud of him.
