Harry's heart dropped into his stomach, his breathing quickened, and he felt himself begin the sweat.Had he heard her right?
"The Burrow?" Harry squeaked out. "Like the house the Weasleys live in? By the muggle town, Ottery St. Catchpole?"
"Yes, for God's sake Harry, please just say the words!"
Harry stepped into the fireplace, threw down the powder, and in his clearest voice (he didn't need another accident), he cried: "The Burrow!"
The world seemed to spin, but after a while he felt himself begin the slow down, so he opened his eyes and gasped.
It was the Burrow, of course. There was the familiar sight of dishes being washed by magic, the clock which showed all the Weasleys destinations, and...
Ron.
His mouth was wide opened in shock. Harry realized he looked older than he did when he last saw him, and he assumed that he himself looked different, too.
But that didn't matter now. The only thing that mattered was that Harry was running into his arms, and hugging him like he hadn't seen him in years, not just six months.
"Harry," Ron said, his voice hoarse. "Is that really you?"
He nodded, tears rolling down his cheeks. "Yeah, it is." Harry heard a sound and turned around, and saw Ginny come out of the fireplace. She had a bit of soot and ash on her face, but she was still beautiful, of course. Nothing could ever take that's way from her.
Harry turned back around to face Ron. "Why aren't you at Hogwarts? It's the middle of the year!"
"It's a long story, but Ginny and I will tell it," he said, gesturing to his sister.
Ginny smiled, then took a deep breath. "Just don't interrupt until we're done taking alright?"
"Sounds good," Harry said nervously.
After a second, Ginny started talking.
"When you got expelled from Hogwarts, Dumbledore tried really hard to convince the Ministry the rethink their actions. It was dangerous to exile you, because of all the knowledge You-Know-Who has about you. If he started going after you in the Muggle world, then everyone would find out about the Wizarding World, and our entire civilization would get destroyed. The Ministry, of course, didn't listen to Dumbledore, so your wand was snapped, and the Ministry expelled you.
"Dumbledore knew he had to stop this. So, he carefully monitored your behaviour until you ended up moving to Lima, Ohio. Dumbledore wanted someone to watch over you there, and he wanted it to be a familiar face, someone you could trust, and befriend. But he couldn't just put a normal wizard or witch that you knew there, because something would be bound to go wrong. I decided I would go, because I was already living in America, and it would be easy for Dumbledore to manipulate the school into thinking I had been at McKinley for a year before you even arrived. Dumbledore also wiped your memory, so you thought that Ron never even had a sister in the first place, so it wouldn't seem too suspicious at the beginning.
"Of course, the Ministry doesn't know any of this. If they ever found out, I'm sure all of us would get our wands snapped as well, but the risk is worth it. They still think you're living with the Dursleys, and that you go to Muggle school with Dudley. Questions?"
Harry was speechless. Dumbledore and the Weasleys did all of this for him?
"What about Hermione? Does she know? And what about Voldemort?"
Ginny cringed at the name. "Hermione knows. She should be here soon. She didn't want to miss school. And You-Know-Who, he has been trying to find you for the entire year. Dumbledore keeps planting clues, and leading him to other places, but You-Know-Who knows that you were expelled."
