Emre woke to his phone ringing, grabbing it so it didn't go to voice mail he said hello.
"Emre Bey, this is Umar."
"Umar, I really need to get in touch with Can, is there anyway you can call him, it really is an emergency."
"I can try but I cannot guarantee he will call you back."
"I know, Can is stubborn but please try, tell him I would leave him alone if it weren't a true emergency. I will have my phone on me, I am getting ready to go to the airport to pick up our Baba."
"I will try." Umar hung up the phone and sit for a few minutes, he believed what Emre was saying he could tell by the young man's voice that he truly needed to contact Can. He went on board his boat and first tried the boat's radio, when he got no response, he pulled out his satellite phone and dialed the one on Can's boat.
CAN'S POV
It has been two weeks since I left Istanbul, Sanem and my happiness. I am becoming a shell of the man I once was, not caring about my appearance, if I eat, just sit thinking about her, smelling her scraf.
I am standing at the bow of the boat, the wind blowing gently through my hair, not really seeing the beauty of the sea or the day. I notice nothing but the fact that I am alone, once again, the heart break of loving someone again is with me.
I hear the phone in the cabin ringing, I let it ring several times before I go down to answer it, I know it must be Umar and I know he wouldn't disturb me unless it was important.
"Umar, what is going on?"
"Can, I promise I wouldn't bother you, but Emre has called me several times, he says it is an emergency that you call him, he said he would have his phone on him."
"Did he say what the problem was?"
"No, just that he was on his way to the airport to pick up your father." he stopped "Can he sounded strange, really like he was worried, upset about something. I believe he needs you to call him."
"Ok, I will think about it."
"I told him that was all I could ask but I want you to know I believe him, by his tone of voice, he needs to talk to you."
Can said goodbye and hung up the phone. He walked out of the boat's cabin, watching the sun as it rose higher in the sky. He knew Emre wouldn't bother him unless he had to, had something happened to their Baba? Why was he returning to Istanbul?
He sat for a while thinking about Umar's words, that Emre had sounded worried. It took him a little while longer before he went below and grabbed his cell phone, he turned it on, there were several messages and text from Sanem, he noticed the time on the first call and message both were within thirty seconds of his walking out of the hospital. He started to listen to the first message but hesitated, NO, he had to keep his head on straight. He didn't want to hear her blame him any more for what had happened, after all Yigit had pushed him first, he knew Yigit had thrown the journal in the fire and he was playing a game with Sanem. But, she didn't believe him, believed what Yigit had said and he had no proof that Yigit was lying.
He kept looking at his phone, it rang and he knew the number to be his Remide Teyze, it hit him then that something had to be really wrong, because she of all people understood his need to run away. He finally couldn't stand it any longer, he had to listen to Sanem's message so he pushed play on the first message.
"Can, Can, please call me back, I'm sorry, I should have left with you. I know, I know in my heart that you wouldn't burn my journal. My thoughts were so confused, I was blinded by the thought that Yigit was paralysed. I love you Can. I need you.' He shut off the message.
