Chapter 51

Can was sitting at his desk, knowing he should be getting some work done, but his mind was on dinner from last night. Paulina's explanation about the man at the bar just didn't explain how the two were acting with each other. Julien also seemed to be keeping something from everyone. He startled when CeyCey knocked on the the door. Looking up he motioned for the man to enter.

"Can Bey, this was sitting on the receptionist's desk this morning, I am sorry I am just getting it to you, but I have been been running errors for Leyla." he said as he handed Can the envelope.

"Who left this?" Can asked.

"Not sure, Deniz, said it was leaning up against the outside doors when she came in this morning." Can tensed.

"Go ask Emre to come to my office, please."  CeyCey nodded as he headed out the door. "CeyCey will you ask the head of security to come to my office also?"

CeyCey nodded yes and left the room, he went to Emre's office then headed toward his desk to call Omar to tell him Can wanted to see him.  He was lost in thought when Sanem tapped him on the shoulder and he jumped back.

Laughing she asked "What has got you so uptight this morning?"

He looked around the corner toward Can's office just as Emre and Omar walked in. "There was an envelope outside the building this morning when Deniz opened the office. I took it to Can and now he is in a meeting with Omar and Emre." 

Sanem turned to walk toward Can's office, "Wait, Sanem, let them meet first and see what is in the envelope before you go in."

"Why?" she asked.

"I just think it would be better, Can needs to take care of this. I am sure he will tell you when he knows more." Sanem sighed loudly. "Here let me make you a cup of tea while we wait

She waited for her tea and then walked back to her desk, CeyCey following her, both keeping an eye on Can's office door. 

"What do you think is in the package?" asked CeyCey.

"I am not sure. But, dinner last night was strange. It seemed as if both Julien and Paulina are keeping secrets."

Both turn as they hear the door to Can's office open. Omar walks past them and heads to the reception area. Sanem starts to stand when Emre comes out and walks to her desk.

"Sanem, I know you want to know what is going on we are waiting for Baba and the police to arrive." Emre sounds tired "Could you please make some tea and coffee, CeyCey and then everyone should be here. Just bring it to Can's office." 

CeyCey nods and walks away, Emre grabs Sanem into a hug "Can is beside himself, I swear if I didn't know that Huma was in prison, I would swear she was behind all this."

"How do we not know if she is behind this, she seems to be able to persuade people to do terrible things for her."

"Ah, there is Baba." Emre looks past Sanem's shoulder "Come on let's head to Can's office."

They walk in as Can is hanging up the phone. He seems deeply troubled and Sanem walks over to touch his shoulder. He holds on to her hand as if she is his lifeline.

"I spoke with Metin, he is on his way to the prison to speak with the warden. I want to know exactly who has been visiting Huma. I just feel that she is somehow involved in all of this."
