Chapter 63

"I think" spoke Can "We need to speak to Julien before you tell Paulina. We need answers only he can give us."

"I agree." Said Metin "But, again, the police should be called and here when we speak with him. Can, we can call Lieutenant Aksoy, we both trust him." Can nodded his agreement. Metin left the room to place the call and Can asked Emre to call Julien and ask him to come to the office in a couple of hours, he wanted to be able to update the lieutenant on what had been happening. 

Can walked out of the office, called Sanem and told her what else they had found out.

"Oh. Allah, Can. What about Paulina? Has she been told?" she asked.

"No, not yet. Pierre doesn't know what to do." he answered.

"She needs to be told." she stated "Maybe Leyla and I should go to her then we can bring her to the office."

"I will ask Pierre and Emre and let you know."

"Can, she should know, she needs to be told before this scandal hits and it will. She cannot be kept in the dark, no matter how much this hurts." 

Can walked back to the office "Hold on Sanem." He walked over to Pierre and whispered into his ear; the man nodded his ok. "Sanem, go to her. Pierre thinks you are right." he paused "Maybe don't tell her about her mother's death or the will, let him do that."

"Ok, Can. I will call Leyla and we will go to her." They clicked off and Can walked back into his office.

Once Lieutenant Aksoy arrived the men told him what had been going on, they explained everything they had found out and what they had planned.

The lieutenant spoke "He will be here soon."

Can answered "He should be here soon."

"What about the aunt? We need to question her also. And we need to do it before he can warn her."

"I don't think we can do it with along with him. Is there someone at the station you trust?" Asked Metin.

"Evet, I will have them bring her in for questioning while we question him here." The lieutenant got on the phone and called the station. Once he had his colleague on the phone, he explained everything and told him what he needed him to do.

"Ok, is there some way we can record all this? I want to make sure that we have it in his own words." he stopped "We will have to let him know it is being recorded or we will not be able to use it against him."

Emre spoke "Yes, we can record this on Can' laptop. Do you want sound or video also?"

"Both, if possible. He doesn't need to know it is being videoed, just that we are recording the conversation." Emre nodded his head and went to set up Can's laptop. They waited and once Julien arrived Deren showed him to Can's office. The man stopped at the door, surprise on his face at seeing Pierre in the office.

"What is going on?" he asked.

"Sit down, father. I, we, have several questions to ask you." said.

"Sir, I am Lieutenant Aksoy, I am here to ask some questions about your late wife." Julien nodded and sat down.

"If you don't mind, I want to record our conversation, I have a lot of questions and several to speak with and I want to make sure I have everything done correctly."

"I don't mind." answered Julien.

"Sir, where were the evening you wife passed away?"

"I was a dinner meeting, my wife hated going to those dinners." he gave a little smile "She said it was a waste of a good evening with food and friends to discuss business."
