Chapter 56

 Aziz was filling in Sanem's parents and Mihriban on what had occurred during the day, as everyone started to slowly arrive. Nihat, looked over at his daughters, Sanem holding Leyla's hand in hers. He was furious thinking that Emre was up to his old tricks and worried that Leyla would be hurt again. 

"Allah" he thought "How do I protect my daughter's heart?"

Can spoke "Metin is on his way, he has one last thing he wanted to check out before he arrives." 

Aziz and Nihat walked over to where Can stood, Nihat speaking first "Who is this Amelie Dubois that is visiting Huma?" he asked.

Aziz answered "I have no idea. She is not anyone I have known to be part of Huma's life but then I have no idea who she might have gotten to know." Metin drove up and everyone became quiet waiting for him to come over.

Metin looked as if he was truly confused, "I called the warden again, I had a couple of questions that I needed to get the answers to." Everyone waited for him to continue, Leyla was gripping Sanem's hand now.

"First, I wanted to know how many times Emre had visited his mother and also how many times this Amelie and Paulina had visited her." he paused, "I was surprised by his answers. It seems Paulina never actually visited Huma but had been to see one of the guards a few times, the guard was off today so I could not question him. The warden himself never met or saw her. Emre also had also visited with a different guard, and I was able to speak with him but let me finish and I will tell you what I found out. Emre also visited with Huma on four occasions. This Amelie Dubois, according to the warden, who he had met had visited Huma on several occasions."

Metin held up his hand as everyone started to speak at once. "I also saw Huma today. She wouldn't answer my questions, but she asked me several times if Can had read the letter she had written him." Everyone looked over at Can and he shook his head no "I am not even sure where that letter is!"

"I do." said Sanem "I have it. It is inside my laptop bag, I was hoping that one day you would finally read it." she gave Can a small smile.

Metin looked back at Can "I think you need to read it. The only other thing Huma said was that she was not involved in this and that someone was trying to make it look as if she was."

"Then how do you explain what Fabri and Aylin said?" Asked Leyla.

Metin answered her with a question "How do we know they are speaking the truth? Do we really think we can trust them?"

Everyone was silent "Sanem, do you have the letter with you?" asked her mother.

She nodded her head yes "Then, Can I think you need to read it." Mevkibe said "You can go with Sanem by the dock and read it together or go by yourself but please read it, especially if it will answer some of our questions." Sanem stood and walked over to their cabin, when she came back, she had the letter in her hand. She offered it to Can, who slowly reached for the letter but grabbed her hand also. 

"Please, go with me and we will read this together." he said. Sanem held on to his hand and turned to the others "We will be soon." she said.
