Daisy's POV:
We all heard Hazel's screams. We all heard Alexander's yell.
We all heard the gun shots.
By the time we found the room they were in, and unlocked it, Hazel was almost dead.
"Please don't leave me," Alexander sobbed, holding Hazel in his arms.
"I'm sorry, Alex. I love you." She whispered.
And she closed her eyes.
I screamed, and ran for my best friend.
I don't remember much after. I remember Hazel being in an Ambulance, on the way to the Aswan hospital. I remember Alexander holding her hand as she was being led into the emergency room. I remember the doctor saying that there wasn't much he could do. I remember Amina saying that everything would be alright. I remember George saying that he was sorry. I remember Mr. Wong hugging Alexander, crying. I remember May and Rose asking if Hazel would be alright, and me not responding. I remember Bettina Fyseal being arrested for first—degree murder. I remember me for the first time not feeling triumphant at a murderer being led to prison.
I remember me, in me and Hazel's cabin, packing Hazel's things.

Thirty seven hours later:
George came rushing in. "So—er—" he saw my face. "Y'know the way Hazel wasn't confirmed dead yet?" I looked down at my toes.
Hazel shouldn't have died like that. She didn't deserve to.
"Yeah, well," George continued. "The doctors came to her father for the final report. And..." he smiled at me. "She's alive."
