Hazel's POV:

I ran for Bettina. She wasn't ready. I pushed her into oil—full barrels.

She screamed.

While she was preoccupied, I slapped Alex in the face, trying to wake him up.

He didn't open his eyes.

I turned, as Bettina approaches me, a vengeful smirk on her face, and ran.

I ran towards the bookshelves, grabbing the biggest book I could find. The Egyptian Encyclopaedia.

She ran after me. I hit her as hard as I could with the book. She fell backwards, giving me more time. I then turned a coal barrel over onto her. She closed her eyes.

I looked over at Alex, seeing him stir. "ALEXANDER ARCADY! YOU GET YOUR BUTT UP HERE RIGHT NOW!" I yelled at him. Too preoccupied by pouring oil on Bettina Fyseal.

He jumped up, sticking something up his shirt. But Bettina was unconscious.

"I—Is she dead?" He asked.

"No, she's just unconscious, but we better run. She's stronger than she looks." I said. "What is it?" I said at Alexander's horrified expression. He lunged for me.

Bettina wasn't unconscious after all.

I fell again. Hitting the floor hard. I get up quickly, seeing Alexander punching Bettina in the stomach. I was very proud of him. It is simply not right to punch a girl.

Bettina fell, landing unluckily right beside an old rifle. She grabbed it, and shot Alexander.

I screamed, seeing Alexander hit the ground. I screamed seeing him close his eyes.

I screamed seeing him take his last breath.

I looked over at Bettina. Too shocked by Alex's death, I didn't notice her reach for the gun again.

And aim it at me.

I looked over at Alexander, tears streaming down my cheeks. Then I look over at Bettina again, closing my eyes, and taking my last breath.

I hear the yell of Alexander's voice as a bullet impales my stomach.
