Lavinia's POV:

When our carriage stopped at Aswan Dock abruptly. The air was damp and wet, and we were all sweating bullets.

"Now listen carefully," Uncle Felix said. He pulled out three of my most favourited things. Stink Bombs. "When the boat docks, servants will come out of the boat to grab supply for the rest of the journey. While they're gone. You plant a stink bomb in the middle of the gangplank. Everyone will close their eyes because it smells so much. All you must do to get on, is put on these goggles," He gestures to three old goggles. "And walk on. When you are there, go to cabin twelve. That is where you will meet Daisy."

"Yes, Mr M." Beanie said.

Mr. M. handed Kitty the stink bombs, and made us put on the goggles. He looked at me. "From the stories Daisy said about you all, I presume you, Miss Temple, know how to plant a stink bomb?"

I tried not to turn red. "Yes."

"Well then," he said, "good luck to you all." He walked back to our carriage.

We waited in a pile of potato sacks. The SS Hatshepsut loomed over the docks. "Okay Lavinia," Kitty whispered. "It's time." The horn blared.

I grabbed a chalky ball, and an oily—looking vial. The servants walked off the ship, over to a small factory. I jumped onto the gangplank. Holding my breath, I dropped the chalk ball, and poured some of the vial onto it.

The stink bomb exploded. I gestures to Kitty and Beanie, through the bomb's dusty fog. I heard shrieks coming from the ship. We walked onto the deck.

"Woah." said Beanie, awestruck. I was too, but pretended not to be. The boats deck looked like a hotel. With caramel laminate floors, and marble pillars.

The stink bomb didn't last as long as I expected it to. A servant was walking back onto the gangplank. He must have see out silhouettes. "Who goes there?" He cried.

I dropped the stink bomb bag, grabbed frozen Kitty and Beanie, and ran.

I accidentally pushed Kitty into a curly girl's seat, who said, "EXCUSE ME?!"

"Terribly sorry." I said, and ran again.

Little did I know who that was.

How dare Lavinia not recognise me! How DARE she!

I walked back towards the gangplank, the servants still panicking.

I put on my innocent charade. "Excuse me," I said, "Are you looking for three intruders?" I gestured towards the sea," They jumped off the ship!" I tried to look frightened.

The servants all ran towards the port side of the ship. I looked down at my feet. Huh. What are stink bombs doing lying here?

I grabbed the black duffel bag. Looking around to make sure no one saw me, I ran back into my cabin.
