The door slammed open and he stormed in like a mad man. His hands pried open a drawer and he began to flung clothes onto the floor like a child, until he found what he wanted.
"What the fuck? I thought I told you weren't allowed back in here until you corrected your bitchy attitude."
"Well I need some clothes since my so called wife, kicked me out of our bedroom." I huffed, crossing my arms across my chest and fighting to ignore the shiver of lust that rocked through my body as his eyes zeroed in on my breasts.
"Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out."
He mumbled something incoherent under his breath like, crazy or intolerable woman, and it spiked my anger through the roof.
I fell back against my pillow, just as the door was slammed shut. The whole room almost vibrated from the sheer force and I knew without a doubt that by now most of Palace knew of our pathetic argument.
How had it even occurred? Well for that we have to go back three days, to when I awoke from my accident with a splitting headache and an even worse temper.
"What happened?" I mumbled groggily, looking around the familiar cream walls of my bedroom. I heard voices all around me,and yet found no faces to match them.
I felt alone, cold and worst of all, confused.
"Hey baby," I tried to smile at my husband, who acted as a beacon of hope amiss all the confusion.
"What happened Hardin?" His warm hand cupped my cheek, and his lips curled up into a smile, radiating love. Suddenly the door creaked open, and just as quick as the smile had appeared, it dropped.
"What are you doing here?" His voice sounded distant and cold as he stood up. I desperately reached for his hand, wanting to cling onto some part of normalcy for as long as I could.
"Hardin..." I started but was quickly cut off.
"I'm here to see my daughter, not that it's any of your business." Clarissa. Her auburn hair with it's dark highlights came into view, her eyes were fiercely blue, as she stared down my husband.
"She's my wife, she is my business."
"And here I thought you were different, better than all the misogynistic pigs who lived in this world but no...you're just like. Treating my daughter as your property."
"I wouldn't never do that!" I gasped, shocked by the sound of his voice. The rage and anger executing out of his loud and violent tone.
I had never heard Hardin speak like that before.
"Please you're just like your father, a stone cold bastard..."
"Stop it!" I screamed, causing the room to fall silent. It was only now that I noticed the two nurses working quietly at the back of the room. I motioned for them to leave, and waited until they were gone to speak.
"What happened? Somebody tell me." As if only just remembering that I was hear, Hardin rushed to my side and quickly clutched my hand, pressing a kiss to my knuckles.
