"I'm Jose, lovely to meet you your Majesty." I dragged out my chair and gave him a small smile.

"Arabella please," Gesturing for him to sit, I took the chair opposite him. "So..." I drawled, feeling the awkwardness setting in.

He burst out into laughter which caused a giggle to rise up my throat. "Sorry, this isn't the typical way I get to know a girl. You know with..." He pointed at the mass crowd gathering around the patio, watching the two of us intently.

Even though we were far away enough that they couldn't hear our conversation, the feeling of all their eyes pinned on us was enough to make me squirm.

"Welcome to my life, our yours depending on how this goes." I noticed his nervous and apprehensive expression. "Sorry, I've not really been on many dates."

"The ones you did though were amazing," I frowned in confusion. "Forgive me, I watched the competition and your dates with the former King." Hardin. How could I be doing this to him?

Jose cleared his throat loudly, noticing his mistake in mentioning Hardin. "My apologises."

"It's fine, let's just discuss something else. Your profession perhaps?" I had ten minutes to deem if this man was suitable to be my husband and among the potential prospects he was definitely at the top of them.

"I'm a farmer by trade. I grow all kinds of fruits and vegetables. My farm was inherited from my father, who inherited it from his etc."

"How did you become a candidate then?" From my understanding they were supposed to be from noble birth or rich.

"Well, as one of Dahlia's main supplier of food, I'm fairly wealthy and I guess they wanted to throw in someone from a more humble background. What about you? I mean, what do you enjoy?"

"Dancing." I was as surprised with my answer as him.  For some reason, the conversation flowed fluently and I found myself opening up to this man I barely knew.

"I love dancing too, salsa to be more specific."

"Oh, I don't know that one." Reaching over the table, his fingers grazed over my knuckles and I  froze.

"Perhaps, I'll have to teach you sometime." I forced my hand to stay put, trying welcome the foreign feeling of another man touching me like this.

"I would like that a lot." Grinning, he opened his mouth to say something else when a man came storming over, his face so average I couldn't even remember his name. Shit, I remember it starting with an R.

"I believe the time has come for my date with the Queen." He addressed Jose, not me.

"Of course." Jose politely stood up, still gripping my hand and then pressed the lightest of kisses onto my knuckles. "Till next time." He floated away to join the crowd, so eloquently I didn't even notice my new date had sat down.
