I watch my wife

I watch my wife. Her soft skin, exposed to the fresh morning sunlight, her subtle snores filling up the silence amiss the room, her body beautifully splayed across the bed.

My fingers reach out and gently caress her shoulder, brushing upwards towards her cheek. As though my touch was a fly, she swats my hands away, mumbling something incoherent and turning over in his sleep.

I chuckle, resting back onto my hand to watch my wife sleep some more. A yawn breaks free from her throat and slowly her majestic royal blue eyes peek open, she rubs them sleepily, and then gasps at my closeness.

"Don't you have anything better to do than watch me sleep, you pervert." I glanced over at the clock. I had a million and one things to be doing right now.

Turning back to her, I shrugged and smiled. "Nothing is better than this." I leaned in to kiss her. She protested, complaining about morning breath but I ignored her, capturing her lips with my own.

Pulling back, I stroked her cheek, frowning at the dark circles that underlined her eyes. "I heard you last night. Did you have another nightmare?"

"Yeah, it was the same one." Four months on and yet still, she couldn't escape the tortuous events of that horrible night. The night our lives were almost snatched from us.

Mine had gotten better, only haunting me every other week or so but Arabella was different. She felt guilty for taking Clarissa's life, when everyone knows she did the right thing. In her mind though, it was point blank murder, never mind the strong justification to follow it.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She shook her head, burying her face into my neck. "Just promise me that you will never let go, promise me that you'll fight. If we're ever in that situation again, I need you to fight for your life. Never mind about me, just fight." I pulled her back, my heart clenching at the sight of her eyes wet with tears.

"I'll fight for you," I brushed a kiss upon her nose. "Even if I'm a million miles away, I'll fight my way back to you."

I could never promise her the answer she wanted. I could never fight if Arabella's life was in danger, and she knew that.

"I should get up, I'm meeting Flo and Rory for brunch." Sitting up, she wrapped the sheets firmly around body, nude except for sheer black thong, that shaped her ass perfectly.

"Baby, you're really making me want to be late." Her lips curled up into a mischievous grin, and she stood up quickly, only to bend over for my discarded shirt. "Oh fuck," I groaned, my eyes glued to her ass practically shoved in my face.
