"Good morning to you, my darling children. Now, let us appreciate that all 38 of you are able to live happily under this roof. Thank you for the food." Isabella prayed.
"Thank you for the food!" The children said.
After breakfast, Emma slowly walked through the halls with a tired expression on her face that quickly changed to shock when she heard a voice.
"Emma."
She turned around quickly but much to her dismay, she only saw two kids, not the person she hoped for. Letting out a sigh, she continued walking.
-----
"Emma looks sad again. I've never seen her look like that." Phil said, slightly pursing his lips.
"Yeah." Gilda said.
"Me too." Don nodded.
"And it's not just Emma. Ray and Y/n too." A kid said.
Lannion and Thoma remembered when they saw Ray lying down in the library, a depressed expression on his face as he held something in his hands before letting out a sigh and lowering his head. They then remembered seeing Y/n with a blank expressing after breakfast as he made his way to Krone's former room to start the additional tests Mama had assigned.
"They seem so depressed."
"They're lonely without Norman."
"Well, the four of them were really good friends."
Don and Gilda sighed, their eyes sadly averting to Emma's figure.
-----
At night, Y/n and Ray awaited in the dimly lit library mc slightly raising their brows as Emma, Gilda, and Don stared at them with a hint of determination.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" Ray asked as Y/n hummed.
"We should start deciding what we're gonna do, right? From this point on..."
Y/n grunted as he looked away boredly, much to the others surprise.
Ray let out a sigh and said, "We don't care."
"Huh?"
"We don't care." Ray repeated.
"Let's just die here." Y/n muttered.
The other three looked at them in disbelief.
"The cliff makes it impossible to escape. And, the only bridge going out is attached to headquarters. Plus, we're tired." Ray said, referring to himself and Y/n.
"Really tired. I'm just gonna focus on finishing my tests. Nothing else." Y/n mumbled.
Emma held out the tracker-breaker device to Ray and said, "Here, it's yours."
"Keep it. I don't need it." Ray said. "If you want to escape, then do it. Sorry, guys. We're out."
He looked at a certain someone and said, "Sorry, Emma."
Tears pricked the corners of Emma's eyes as she stared at the pair before her. Giving them a hesitant nod, she made her way out of the room as Gilda and Don sadly stared at her.
"Emma." Gilda whispered.
After she had left the room, Don looked back and pleaded, "Ray, Y/n, come on."
"Sorry." Ray said. "Sorry, Don. Gilda."
-----
Muffled cries were heard in the infirmary as Emma clutched onto the sheets below her, burying her head in her pillow. Sending a presence, she looked up and was quick to glare at Isabella who stood before her.
