"It's now November 7th, 2047. 3 hours since I came back. Norman is already heading for the capital with his army. Don and Gilda went looking for Sonju and Mujika. Y/n is missing, just as he said. The extermination plan is underway at full pace." Ray said as he walked throughout the hideout.
"That's all the briefing you asked." He said, turning to look at Emma. "And you? Could you remake the promise?"
"Yup!" Emma smiled. "We did it! Everybody will be able to leave for the human world without any deaths and without demons following us!"
"Huh...For real?" One of the younger kids asked.
"Yes!"
And with that, the kids began cheering.
"And what about his price? The reward?" Ray asked.
"Right..." Emma said. "Never mind about that now. I'll explain it later!"
"...Well, ok...When we have time, I will want every detail. Leaving that aside, we must hurry too! We're leaving right now. Thoma and Lani found out something terrible..."
Thoma and Lannion nodded immediately as Emma looked at them in confusion.
"Norman...His plan isn't simply to kill the royals and the court. He wants to exterminate every single demon in the capital."
Emma had a horrified expression at the revealed truth.
-----
"I understand, Gilda. We'll head for the Royal Capital too." Mujika smiled.
"Wha-? Wait! Mujika, your folks have been avoiding the royals for so long and..." Gilda panicked.
"Is it alright, Sonju?" Mujika asked. "I want to stop that war too. Most importantly, you are our friends! Plus, I want to save Y/n."
"Huh...?" Gilda and Don muttered in confusion.
"...Well, I suppose it is indeed about time we headed for the capital..." Sonju said.
"Then it's decided. Let's go, then...." Mujika said.
"Ok, let's go..." Emma said.
"To the Royal Capital!"
-----
"You get it? We must act before Norman kills the nobles. I mean, of course, we have to stop the genocide of the townspeople too. But, if the Queen and the nobles die, it's all over. The whole social system will implode. We'll have no one to negotiate with." Ray said.
"What does that mean?" One of the younger kids asked.
"It means if that happens, we'll lose our chance at peace...There would be no way to prevent war and chaos." Emma replied.
"We have until this Tifari ceremony when the nobles gather at the Capital. That guy will never miss such a chance...Norman's priority is probably to exterminate the demons' leadership...To kill all nobles and the Queen. Whatever happens, we have to make it in time to stop Norman from doing that."
Emma stood with a determined expression, picturing Norman with blood as several demons were being slaughtered. She wants to stop that from happening. She does not want to see it happen.
"How long does it take to get there?" Emma questioned.
"Normally about 5 days." Ray replied.
"But what if we ignored all risks and hurried along the shortest paths?" Emma proposed.
"3 days. At our pace...we can make it!" Ray replied.
"Sorry, but...Today's already November 7th in the afternoon...It's really only two and a half days until the Tifari, isn't it?" Anna questioned.
