Y/n boredly sat still as Ray wrapped his injuries and scolded him, not that he completely minded it because he sort of tuned him out. Then, his eyes slightly narrowed and he glanced to the side, meeting the stare of Sonju and Mujika. The two demons simply looked away, acting as if they were never staring.
"Hmmm..." Y/n blinked.

"Sooo goood..." Emma smiled
She and the other children stay together eating, happily enjoying her meal. Sure, it was not as good as what they are back at the house, but the taste of it was enough to please their taste buds and make them feel satisfied.
"How did you make this?!" Don asked, whooping his head over to Ray.
"It's called cooking." Ray simply replied.
"But...how?! How could you possibly make it so delicious?!" Don asked, still completely taken aback by the perfection of the meal.
"Eh, I just did it like Mujika taught, step by step." Ray shrugged.
"Shut up! This is so unfair! Anything you try, you're the best at!" Don complained, still munching on the food.
"That would be because he's a genius."
"Damn you!!"
"You two also did a great job with the fire." Mujika complimented, facing Mark and Rossi.
Sitting aside, Y/n was digging through his backpack, curious as to what exactly was in it since he did not pack it. Remember, he tried blowing himself to bits and only survived my luck. He obviously had little knowledge as to what was packed for him. Suddenly, his fingers grazed a hardcover and he perked up, pulling out a book. The sight of it made him grin.
"Wow! I'm surprised one of you had the decency to pack this for me. I thought it was left to burn in the house." He said.
"We were going to leave it, but we knew that there was the possibility of you causing a tantrum. After a short discussion, we decided to bring it for you." Anna sweat dropped.
Y/n blinked twice, silent, before throwing his head back, one hand on his chest and the other on his forehead.
"How blessed I am to have such considerate people in my life! I guess I'll finally forgive you guys for interrupting my suicide." He exhaled.
"Huh-? What do you mean?" Nat raised a brow.
"Enough of that. It's time to eat, so sit down and stop fooling around!" Ray scoffed as he slapped the back of Y/n's head.
Y/n winced as he cast Ray an annoyed expression, deciding to place his books aside to avoid further arguments. Ray took a seat beside Y/n and the other kids became silent, holding hands as Mujika began her prayer for the food, giving thanks before everyone started eating.
As Ray chewed on a spoonful of food, his eyes drifted to the side and he caught sight of an uncharacteristically quiet Emma who just sat there, not eating but staring at the floor.
"What's the problem?" Ray asked, catching her attention.
"Hm? No, just thinking..." Emma sighed.
Then, a small smile stretched on her lips as she scanned the faces of those around her, a warm feeling blooming in her chest.
"Sharing a good meal like this really makes me happy." She confessed.

Throughout the course of three days, the group had been making quite the progress. Although, they had to take many detours, following along the path that seemed like a labyrinth.
